There are about 5 people on here that have 05s now.
But how many people out there aren't on these forums, and are out cruisin' in their 'Stangs?
Does Ford have a # of Mustang Sold as of now, or only production #s?

I don't know if that number is easily gotten. I went back and forth in threads yesterday just to get the number produced. The official number as of 10/14 was 9,901. I think that sounds a little low since all the lots were full, but maybe.

I would like to know how many of us PRE-ORDERED and still don't have our cars, GT's especially, and why are the dealers getting those with higher VIN #'s than those of us who pre-ordered? What is with Ford's logic of ship what's made last and let those who faithfully ordered early to WAIT...

The one I saw yesterday was something like #2268. You just assume we are the only ones who love them, but there are tons and tons of Mustang drivers out there who are not members here.

Too bad the dealer wanted to get in an auto and tack on a premium

This is the way my thinking is going... the lower your vin number, the further back it was parked in the lot. So the newest vehicles to hit the parking lot on shipment day just happened to be shipped first. Not the best policy on Ford's part, but they will come eventually so while we're waiting might as well sit back and have another beer.

I don't know the layout of the parking at AAI, but is it possible that the early ones get so burried in the lot that the newer onces had to load first. If things got too backed up, they may not have been able to get to the first ones without loading the later stuff. Of course this is pure speculation.

May as well get a keg, could be a while at the rate they are going. Perhaps they will get all this ding/dent/whoops dropped it issues out of the way, but still why did we order earlier than the dealers? Their cars just appeared on the dealer inventory last Tuesday and poof! they magically appeared in the dealer lots within 3 days and the rest of us have been waiting over 3 weeks. Those who didn't order can just drive up & buy what the dealer thought would be good sellers, and those of us with taste/personal choices have been at the mercy of salespeople.

Go figure.

I think 8-9000 units would take a ton of parking space. Our lot only has 300 units +/-. I can't imagine how much space you would need to park 9,000 units. I look at the parking lot at the local mall and start doing the math and I would guess that 9,000 units could fill AAI's lot. I would guess that this number of unshipped units is much greater than normal so it would suprise me if they have alot of "extra" parking area. My thought is that it would fill up quick if the normal cycle is build, store breifly then ship. If the ship part stops but the build part doesn't, they probably fill up fast.

Call me disgruntled.
I finally decide to purchase a car correctly- and it all goes wrong again.

I have never been so unhappy in my life.....

Right now this second in my garage I have:
1) Car that is pretty to look at, almost everything under the hood is brand new, nice to drive, and WORTHLESS!
2) Nice almost classic Bronco with EVERYTHING but the paint brand new on it. Also according to KBB- worthless......

The only possible way to own TODAY is keep both cars and get a third- like I need a THIRD car. I can't do a thing.

like maverick 351ci said it stinks that we PRE-ORDERED ( I gave my depo on may 27th) our cars and now some smoe can come in off the street and pick one up today. I know this is comparing apples and oranges, but the only other vehicle I every ordered was a Ranger-and the saleman told me 4 to 6 weeks. The truck was made and deliveried in 16 days.

Karpro you must of been to Manhiem. On a Friday in the summer they run 10,000 cars through the auction and thats after 5,000 the day before at the hiline sale. They most likely park 30,000 cars in total at Manhiem with there side lots. I would think Ford would have simular capacity however there are Mazda's too.

I agree with your numbers upstate, but i don't think they intend on them sitting at the plant as long as they have. I've haven't seen the property, but I wouldn't think they would dedicate that much real estate for parking when in a "normal" situation the product gets built then leaves, no need for all that extra parking.
