I don't think this has been posted already (hope not), but I was looking on the American Lemans Series website yesterday because their winter testing was this week at Sebring in preparation for the 12hr. In the photo gallery I saw these 2 pictures of a new mustang testing tuesday! I haven't read anything about it so I'm not sure, but it looks as if this car may racing in the Sebring 12hr in March. Anyway, here are the pictures of the car. Any info would be appreciated.

Is this one of those race Mustangs you can buy from Ford? I saw one of those at Barrett Jackson. I understand they come with a race 5.0. Why don't they use the 4.6 for racing?
Hey a functional spoiler! I just saw one like that on a Saturn 4 door.

I like how they fixed the problem with the hood ripping off at high speeds.

Actually I watched a race last year where the mustang had 4 hood pins and the hood blew right off of the car

If this car is going to be racing at Sebring in the American Lemans Series than I would guess that it would be in the GT2 class. It is definetely more extreme then the FR-500 Grand am cup cars.
Here's a few other GT2 cars testing at Sebring the same day as the mustang.

And a comparision of the FR-500 Mustang and the Sebring test car.

Is it just my wishful thinking, or do I really see RWL tires on the ALMS car?
If the really are RWL, does anyone know what brand/size they are?

Most racing tires have RWL. (Goodyear, Hoosier, Dunlop, etc.)
