Arrow Mustang Quandry..

Okay, the Ford dealer I work for has one 2006 Mustang left on the lot and it's a 2006 Mustang GT Vert, white exterior, Black top, red interior and it's an auto... I really like the color combo, although white wouldn't be my first choice normally... They are blowing it out to try and get rid of it and I am seriously thinking about *upgrading*... I would rather have a 5-speed, but at the price they are selling it for, I can live with the auto... My payments would go up about $90 and insurance would go up about $10, so for $100 more a month from what I am paying now, I could be in a GT Vert...

I really like my current car and have done quite a bit to it... But this opportunity is a really good one... If you guys were in my shoes, what would you do?!

To go from a V6 to a GT for $100 a month... what are you waiting for????
Will they let you take your un boltable mods with you? you can swap out the sequentials, center console etc. What up grades are on the GT?

I too would do it. Take off any of the mods that can be used for the new car (sequentials, etc), and jump at it. You won't regret it. Once you get it, call Doug, get a CAI & tune, and you won't mind the automatic at all.

It has the Shaker 1000, the satin IUP, ICAP, Anti theft and I think that was it...

I would definitely take off what I could on my current Stang and port it over!

I have a few days to think about it. The price won't hit the newspaper till the 14th (I am the graphic designer, so I got the ad copy way early!), so I would have this weekend to take some of my stuff off. It's been on the lot for a while, so I doubt it will be going anywhere soon...

Christmas Eve, I bought a left over 06 off the lot and never looked back. I wanted a 07 CS, but the price for the 06 was too good to pass up on.

Will they work with you on any better deal since you work there?

They are taking off almost $7,000 off MSRP! All dealer discount...

That's better than if I used my D-plan!

They are only giving me $15,000 for my trade though... I am trying to work them more on that... I know that's about what KBB says it's worth, but I know my car wouldn't stay that long on the lot either...

I did just that with an 05 'Vert. Had ordered a GT 'Vert (early 05), but dealer never got the allocation number or vin. Took a fully loaded V6 in May, planned to supercharge it, Thurs after Labor Day the one I ordered showed up on the lot. Dealer called me...could not do the swap then, but he put it away for the winter. March 06, Ford offered additional 3000.00 dealer cash on all 05 left-overs, used that plus D plan, had a buyer lined up for my V6 (24,000.00) ended up with same color (WB), fully loaded GT 'Vert for 25000.00 my cost. Nothing but smiles ever since! GO FOR IT!

You couldn't pay me to take an auto in the GT. Auto's are for sedans, not Mustang GTs!

Also when i was looking at getting my Legend Lime '06 there was a white ext/red interior GT with spoiler delete (tempting) but the Red interior was a deal breaker for me. The red is too light/bright for me, it needed to be a deeper/darker red IMHO.

Other than that if you can live with the auto then you should do do it. I think you'll miss the manual trans though!

Thanks for everyone's input! It definitely helped.... Helped talk myself into getting it!

I did decide to go with it and boy am I glad I did!

I loved my V6, but this GT is pretty awesome and I love being topless!!

I am normally not a big fan of white, but with this interior, it looks nice... I do miss my 5-speed, but this auto is pretty decent and after I get a CAI and tune in the sucker, should be even better!

Check her out! She won't stay stock for long, that's for sure...

Congrats, I would have done the same thing (in fact I decided to get a GT this time as well). **** for a 100 extra a month you practically stole it. Really like that color combo. I would tell you to enjoy it but I already know that you are!

It's a beauty! Nothing says "Mustang" like a white vert! Congrats. Cruising on those warm summer nights will never be the same!
