Mustang orders halted?
I received word from the dealer that I was to place an order with that Mustang orders have been halted by Ford... is this true? Anyone know when they will begin again?
here is what she emailed me:
"I did get some disappointing news a little while ago... At this time, Ford has discontinued Mustang orders. If you'd like to still come by, that will be great - we can go ahead and price one up for you and then submit the order to Ford as soon as we get the okay. I just wanted to give you a heads up on what is going on..."
Any info you have would be great...

I'm sure if all mustang production was shut down it would be on the boards a week before your dealership told you. In closing he’s full of it.
Ill find out more from her, I replied asking when she expected the orders to go through (in other words, am I in it for a long wait)...
but I too figured Id hear more about it if this was true...
This guy is just trying a last ditch effort to get you to stay with them and not look elsewhere. Don't believe it for a second, my friend. Go somewhere else, preferably a bigger dealer if you are dealing with a smaller Ford place. Trust me on this one.

anyone recieve the newest issue of Mustang Enthusiast it has an article on the possible halt of the 2005 mustang. It reads " Mr. weyer is preparing a preliminary injunction which if granted would immediately bar ford from offering for sale, selling, manufacturing or delivering any 2005 stangs with the mycolor option." then it says Ford didnt have a statement at press time of course these magazines begin printing a few weeks ago. so who knows.

I've been told by my salesman @ Jacky Jones Ford in Cleveland, GA that they couldn't get ANY GT's what-so-ever. This primarily being that they are 95% truck sales. They do, however, have half a dozen or so v6's and 3 Saleen's.
He also says that "Ford just can't build them fast enough", but who knows?

Oh, and Mr Weyer has proved to be the "ambulance chaser" of Patent Law. This guy has a history of filing for patents with the sole purpose of collecting money from company's more than willling to do so.
My guess would be a dealer allocation issue. I think as Ford is trying to catch up on orders, they may be cutting back on dealer allocations. When I picked up my car, the salesman said they have no more allocations for GTs. They are trying to get potential GT buyers to consider V6s unless they don't mind waiting until who knows when.
Checked in with my dealer at the 1 month point on Friday. He actually started to tell me the "broken robot" story! I get this mental image of a large robot running along the line, out of control, with a bunch of techs in hot pursuit! Good thing I was on the phone with him so he couldn't see my reaction. Do these guys really believe that any modern facility is only one deep on key manufacturing systems? Guess mine does. Still waiting and just enjoying the view of all the fine cars that the lucky folks are bringing home every day.

I hope mycolor is halted so my, mycolor is then considered rare.
