Mustang Issue

So I come back from vacation today, and I noticed my remote wasnt working, so I tried my spare, that didnt work either I had to use my key. Upon entering my car, no lights went on, and I tried to start it All i heard was clicks, Im guessing this is the battery.

There's a number of threads about batteries draining. Its a mixed bag, some do some don't.

Mine lasts all winter when its in storage without a charger. Others seem to die within a week.

Throw a trickle charger on it and see if your keys work again.

battery is the only thing that comes to mind. that powers pretty much all the electrical accessories in the car and more.

Remotes are fine.
Battery is dead.
Charge the battery.
Get a new one if worries you or if it is old.

If your car is locked and alarm set when the battery dies or is disconnected,
you're alarm will trigger a 'security event' when you hook it back up.

Either have your keys ready to disable the alarm, or do not lock the car with the remote when removing the battery (ie: like for storage)

You may have to wiggle the negative terminal to get it off.

Use a flat blad screw driver to seperate the bolt end of the battery terminal clamp, then twist it back and forth and it should slide off.

These S197's are notorious for battery issues. I have had mine since 07 and mine is good for about 4 weeks and then it goes dead others on here can't make it a week. Some people have even gone through 2-3 batteries.
