I went to the first dealer i worked at to get a 2005 with X-plan through my new job and not even a single i dont know so im thinking cool.

Then they tell me Ford is asking dealers to start taking orders on 2006's already so theyre going to try and beg ford for 1 more allocation for me because i want the legend lime and it won't be around in 2006. so worse comes to worse il get a windviel blue 2006 :bang:

heres where it gets hairy

the automatic..
now i know stick would be more fun and its a constant struggle inside my cranial cavity. I do live in the NY metro area so from work and school i have 4 one way trips.. 3 of those are in HEAVY traffic and everytime im in it i think..automatic baby! then home from school at night i think omg i gotta get stick... god i wish i could get 1 of each lol

how are your expriences with the new auto?

 

Can't vouch for the new auto, but I can definitely sympathize with you on the traffic issue. I spent five years dealing with the Long Island Expressway when I worked for Grumman Aerospace. It's a grueling commute.

Awesome that you're going with the Legend Lime, although I'm a little biased there (see signature)...

Still, Windveil Blue is pretty cool. A WB '06 would be an acceptable alternative. Let's not go there just yet though. Work on the LL '05!

 

I beleive that LL will be available in 06, just as a different name - Lime Gold. I remember reading on here that the paint code is the same. I can't wait to get my LL. Nice choice.

yea i live in the queens border and work on the north shore by syosset so the souther state and wantagh are just horrendous in the moring

but i heard that legend lime will not be a color for the 2006's is that correct??
in which case im praying i can get a 05

another question.. if my buddies can get 1 more allocation pushed through am i going to be recieveing this car in like a month or more like 4-5 months??
im just hoping ford doesnt decide to build the last batch of legend lime's may 1st...please tell me im just overreating because i need that 4-5 month buffer to save up for the down payment

 

I got a build date 12 days after ordering! Maybe they're pushing the colors that won't be available in '06 through the system faster. I don't know...

As far as I know, Legend Lime will not be available in '06, but "Lime Gold" will be. Brad's got some preliminary colors slated for '06 on his timeline page.

from when did you first order it to getting a build date? exactly how long


when you get a build date how long usually till you see it at the dealer?


this is urgently important info as i have 1k deposit now but 4-5 months from now il have 8k=p

 

Jay, I think you'd be happy with the Automatic over the long haul. I have no regrets except maybe a handful of times throughout the year, and it's just not worth that to me. If I had the manual full-time, then i would probably be ticked that I didn't get the Auto.........but having the Auto now, I never am questioning my choice, and doubt I ever will. BTW, I hate your avatar.....

YES BEAVIS RULES..............test drive the car in auto/manual. personally i havent driven auto yet but i get a huge thrill outta the manual and i live in jersey haha

 

i dont like the drugs, but the drugs like me=p

 

I ordered my car on March 17th and got a build date on March 29th. May have even come sooner (I didn't check every day!).

I've heard that once your car is built, that it usually appears at the dealer 2 weeks later.

My situation is unusual though. I had a remarkable turnaround time!

Drove both AT and MT and they are equally fast up thru 3 gears then the AT lacks punch in 4th and 5th. Heck they are pretty equal up to about 80 to 85 (fast enough) I would go for the AT if traffic is and issue.

 

Why is everyone else getting build dates so fast? I ordered mine in friggin December and have been told that I won't be getting it til June or July sometime. I'm gonna be PO'ed if I get an 06...

 

so is the 06 lime gold going to be identical to legend lime?

 

Vixen I ordered my car on 3-10-05 and im getting next week 4-15-05 or so they say...
