The MN dealership told me yesterday, when I was placing my order, that it will be 6 - 8 weeks to get my Mustang.

Today, he called and said that he just found out from his sales manager that it will be more like 12 - 13 weeks do the manufacturing delays.

What is up with that?

Even though I placed my order in May and have yet to get a VIN I highly doubt the delay would be 12-13 weeks. From everything FORD is saying I doubt there are any major delays.

It is very likely that there could be that long of a delay. When I ordered my 04 F150 it took over 3 months for it to come in, and that was with a priority 10. So it is not unusual for Ford to get backed up with such high demand vehicles.

It's disappointing to have to wait but it will definitely be worth, whatever day it does finally make it!

Hang in there and just keep thinking about how incredibly cool it will be to have it once the car does finally make it!

They all need a good kick in the ding-ding. Don't tell me to pre-order my car so I get one of the first ones if it is just going to show up 1 week before all of the other ones.

You know I think a whole group of us needs to come and help you your dealer. You have been waiting a long time now. I keep hoping for you everyday I'm going to turn my computer on and you finally have a VIN and a Build date. I know the wait would be killing me.

I certainly don't want to worry you that much, but I think it is strange that you don't even have a VIN. I ordered mine the first week of June and recieved my VIN within two weeks. My car was built on Sept 7th. I think that there is something your dealer may not be telling you.

I would check with another Ford dealership, just in care.

Good luck!

Which dealership are you dealing with in Minnesota? I can tell you if they are on the up and up or not.

They just don't know. Dealers are mostly out of the loop and get second or third hand information.

Doesn't the plant shut down for a couple weeks over Christmas? If so, this is only going to add to the time. I ordered on 9/18 and have a VIN, but it looks like it may be a long wait on the scheduled build date.

I would not say a delay.

I would guess it is more of a catch up to the demand.
