yeah, that shifting from 1st to 4th thing the GTO has is weird.

 

Well, it's the reason a 6.0, 400hp V8 gets decent city mileage.

I test drove a GTO, granted it was an 04, and IMHO the handling was sub par. Not horrible, but my stang test drive was much better.

SurfnSoCal- Skip shifting is old tech in GM's 6spd manuals. My 97 *arrgghh, I can't say it* had the 6spd. It was a fun car to drive, except for the blasted skip shift. It was possible to disable the skip shift selenoid, which most did after a few days driving the thing. It physically locked you out of any gears but rolling to 4th, unless you let off the gas or goosed it a bit to fool the sensor.
