Having to kill a little bit of time and wanting to see the new colors, I went to a local dealership (OC, CA). To my amazement, they are still charging $5k markup on all '05 GTs (had a few), and $4k on the V6 vert that I saw.

Is this common? I thought by now the fever would die down a little. Those who have purchased cars recently, did you pay invoice, MSRP or markups?

Just curious.

Oh yeah, they also had a Ford GT in the showroom with an $80K markup. (red with no stripes -- man that car needs stripes IMHO, especially when it is red).

Here's a very interesting article about pricing of the FORD GT and how over valued they are I found on Blue Oval News. According to this article, they are way way way way, over priced. I'm hoping the same thing will happen to the Shelby Cobra after a year.

local dealer has a GT vert with a 4k markup on it


they have had it in their showroom since the beginning of june

it will sit there for a while too since the snow is gonna start flying here in 2 months
