MPH Magazine features 2005 Mustang on cover!
I just bought the November Issue of MPH (Maximum Performance + Horsepower). They have a Yellow 2005 Mustang GT on the cover next to a '67 Vintage Burgundy Fastback. There are 8 pages dedicated to the 2005 Mustang besides the cover. I think this is the first magazine to offer a full review of the production version of the 05 Stang.
Unfortunately, there are many negative comments about the new Mustang. The title of the Article is “What’s New is Old Again” <span style='font-size:12pt;line-height:100%'>“Ford’s new Mustang keeps it real. Real old”</span>
I guess it is good to hear negative comments as well, it keeps Ford in check.

its already been discussed.
no one really liked it. we came to the conclusion that the mag is geared towards import drivers, so the remarks were mot likely typed to put down the new stang

Did they have anything specific to talk about, or is that just backlash for not having IRS? Having driven the '05, it is definitely much better than tha old car in all aspects.
Just didn't know if they had specific gripes, or if they were being "see we can bash this car when other people are praising it" ego-centric magazine writers.
Thanks for the heads-up, I will have to check it out.

Unfortunately, this magazine doesn't seem to have a website, let alone an online printing of the review, so I can't say much. I've just noticed that any time a preview/review of the 2005 gives faults equal (or approaching equal) print compared to the positive attributes, you know, like a car review should do, people here jump on it as being unfair and snobbish.
Actually they do have a rudimentary website: http://www.mphmagazineonline.com/
They're also a start up mag, so I wouldn't put much credence in anything they say, because as others have noted, they seem to feel that if a car doesn't follow import trends, it deserves to be bashed. Their mantra is "Speed, Sex, Service and Stuff." One article is titled, "How to get free sex from perfect strangers."
They also say this on their site: "We are proud to introduce mph, the magazine the editors of mph magazine call 'the best car magazine since the invention of the car.'" Not sure if it's just an attempt at humor, or a stupid arrogant remark, but either way it should tell you something about their maturity and sophistication level.
Probably here today and gone tomorrow.

Guys...I started that original thread. I have scans of the complete article but even at reduced resolution they are just over the 200K limit so I couldn't post them and after all the negative comments it didn't appear anyone was interested.
I still have them though and if you want it up I can send it to one of you Super Stallions or a moderator to post...just let me know.

"speed, sex, stuff"
"Warning: This is not your FATHER'S CAR magazine"
Pretty much says it all about target audience and maturity of editors. It doesn't exactly shine with objective credibility. But hey, it's still an opinion and so it's interesting.
And seeing two stangs on a cover is, ofcourse, cool. I'm only hoping our local 'zines bothers to review it despite the lack of an official import. (you hear me, AMS?)

I didn't say snobbery = objective credibility. There's a line between objectiveness and pimp, too.
I'll stick with the objective, unsnobby ones and leave the teenie mags on the shelf.

I've read the article twice and It doesn't make sense to me, full of contradictions. Still, great reply by Ford.
Thanks GMAY, I owe you one!!!
