MP3 (Shaker500/1000)
Er...if you're looking for a download solution that won't get you sued by the RIAA (which if you get caught with Kazaa or Limewire, they can), your options are pretty much limitless. The reason that is, is that none of the download sites actually let you download mp3s. They use another type of music compression which includes rights management (anti-pirating), so what I do is download the music, burn it to a CD, and then use Musicmatch to put it back on my computer in mp3 form. It stinks, but I only do it every once in a while, and I hardly ever use CDRs anymore.
Your best bet is if you already have a good cd collection is to go to www.musicmatch.com and download the jukebox. Then you can rip cd's to MP3 (I would suggest 192 kbps...better sound quality than the default...buried in the recorder options), and then burn good mp3 cds. You won't get as many songs on a cd with that level of compression, but the sound quality is much better. I didn't believe it till I heard it for myself.

I've gotten literally thousands of songs from BearShare. It's free, easy to use, and you can download software that hides your IP address from viewing eyes. Also, they're not limited to MP3s. You can get just about anytihing you could want from them (and some things you may not want.) I even got Photoshop CS (8.0)! I was inspired by our choppers to give it a try. Just be careful and scan your downloads for viruses.
itunes
download music and actually support the artists while you're doing it. People ain't gonna have music to listen to if nobody can make any money by playing it. Common, 10 bucks an album is a sweet deal. You spend 10 bucks to go see one movie for two hours. 7 bucks plus tip for a pint of guinness. Or you can just buy cds the good old way and use itunes/music match/whatever to rip them onto your computer in mp3 format. Then you can squeeze about 10 albums onto one mp3 cd. FOR A TOTAL OF 60 ALBUMS IN YOUR STANG! sweet jesus! I've got the mp3 cds, i just need one more thing....
the itunes music store is also just a sweet way of browsing through music, if you don't wanna pay for it. They've got just about anything you could want, except a few key artists who don't like the idea of downloading single tracks and not their complete album as a whole (some of them for monetary reasons, others because hey feel their album can't be divided into separate chunks).
You can listen to a 30 second preview of every track on a cd.
To me this cd changer is one of the best things about the new stang.

Oh yeah... Back on topic... I use Limewire and i-tunes... I don't really download from Limewire much more, as I don't mind paying i-tune prices to be legit...

Is that 7 canuck dollars? I rarely pay more than $3.50 a pint... Unless it's a "popular" pub... There used to be a bar in Chicago that had $2 and $1 wings... (For 10) never thought $10 could feel so good...

but hey, there's a place called peel pub in downtown montreal (a magnet for american 18-21 year olds), they've got 9 cent chicken wings. Of course, you've gotta buy a pitcher of beer and at least like 20 wings, haha, like that's a problem.
Anybody know if this cd changer is gonna be made available in other ford products any time soon?
I think this should be available with any car you get.

Try Limewire, it doesnt have the spyware that kazaa had and i'm very happy with it. You can find it on the cnet website.

For pete's sake guys stop recommending to people that they should download music illegally through kazaa, limewire, whatever. I'm sure neither Brad nor the mods will like this. Use iTunes, Napster, whatever and pay for the music.
HAHA, like many artists are starving out on the streets that are on KAZAA/LimeWire/or WinMX. Havent we all seen MTV's Cribs? The only people that would hurt from music sharing are Indies or smaller groups that are NEVER on those servers anyways.
http://www.unc.edu/~cigar/papers/Fil..._March2004.pdf , check it out, i think many people might change their minds on this topic after reading.
BUT, Wombert does have a point, though i think Legally, there is nothing anybody could do, its always good to play safe.
My 2 cents

ie: Napster, MusicNow, MusicMatch, MSN Music, etc...

I use to dl MP3S left & right back in the early days of Napster, just wasn't sure on which would work best now.
BTW... SonicStage hasn't worked since the McDonalds offer,
hope MusicMatch, Napster or etc. work better. :bang:-side note: Actually a question; Are there any leagal MP3 d/l sites? or are all songs in a different format (non MP3).
Please excuse my ignorance on this topic... I haven't d/l'd music since 1999
I would recomend Apples iTunes to manage all of your songs. This application is awsome and the best. Also you can rip your cds from there and burn them to discs. And to get music I recomend Limewire. It is awsome! You can find everything from songs to videos to freeware games.
