More X-Plan Questions
#1
I am sure that this has been covered somewhere, I did a search
and spent a good while reading several discussions about the X-plan,
but pretty much figured it was like finding a needle in a haystack
considering all the X-Plan discussions there have been. So sorry
if this has already been addressed.
My father qualifies for the X-Plan through his work and has offered
to let me use it, so here are my questions.
1) Does his name have to be on the title for me to use his X-Plan.
2) If so does will he have to cosign on the loan as well?
3) also how will this affect insurance?
This really wasn't a big deal 9yrs ago when I bought my '94 and lived
at home, but since that is no longer the case it seems a bit more difficult.
Has anyone tried this?
Thanks,
Chris

I believe that all is needed is to prove that he has X-plan and that he is your father. X-plan is extended to immediate family... spouse and children. They won't need to put his name on the title, loan, or anything else.

Actually all you need when you purchase the car is the PIN number, the dealer usually doesnt look into it, if they are willing to honor the plan they tend not to care whose getting the deal because the PINs are already allocated by Ford so that you can't use more than you are suppose to. Now in getting the PIN, the person assinging it might be a little bit more picky but your father doesnt have to tell them he is giving it away, thus he can give it to whoever he wants. Xplan actually is for FRIENDS and FAMILY, A and D plans are for yourself and immediate family, but again everything I just said would still apply.

If I read this right you are not eligible, your father is. If that is correct, the vehicle needs to have your father's name on the title and the bank will most likely require him to be on the loan as well.

 Alright I have 2 for an 1 against, I appreciate
everyone's input. Karpro are you speculating, or do you
know this for sure? Has anyone tried using a family members
X-Plan, or is there anywhere on the web I can find information
concerning the X-Plan?
Thanks again for your input, but surely with as many dealers
as there are on the board, someone has to know for sure how
this system works.

x-plan, through the vendor and supplier program, is specifically available to the employee and their spouse only.
