:bang: The road to this blasted car has been so long, that when I finally get it, I am going to have to keep it till I die to make up for it. On the bright side, B. Is now in like with mustangs even though he prefers a jag.

You all know the story- I had settled on a silver v6 right? PERFECTLY happy with my decision, and was waiting to get all my ducks in a row so I wouldn't get screwed or do something silly before I got it home. I was PERFECTLY cool waiting, don't have to be the first.......but if the stars lined up, yes I would have brought one home immediately(they didn't)

In all this lunacy, I had never taken my husband along on my Mustang hunts. I took him to Atlanta, but he didn't play with the ponies. He made the comment the redfire v6 there looked "unfinished"

So Friday I heard of a white gt with red interior at one of the dealers, begged him and bribed him with chinese food to stay home and go looking with me. No cars there. So I took him to the dealer who ALWAYS has at least a pair in stock. They had a screaming yellow GT(with a 5k premium on its head thank you very much-sticker 33k) and a silver v6 auto(21k).

He is stuck on the 04 body style, absolutely loves it(Ugh we drove an 04 v6, it very much was like a go cart compared to the 05). So I drug him away from them and had him take a see at the 05s....... He walks all around the v6 looks it up and down, inside and out. HE ABSOLUTELY despises it! Says the front grille looks unfinished, likes the GT. (Hey I do too, but its MUCHO more $$$$)
I had my eventual finances set up for the v6- to get a GT (or vert as he says he MUST have) . SOO to get a GT means more saving, more planning, and the paying off or getting rid of of my last two remaining bills I have to pay(second house and my olds). I know she will come home eventually, but because of this, there is no way in hades I can bring a GT home right now. Fine with me, it will be done right.

Oh- and Did you know if you pay off all your credit cards, and close the accounts thats BAD for you? Means you have no new credit to show. :bang: If I had a credit card, with my love for shiny things......well it would be BAD. I am NOT getting one just to show I can.

sooooooooo She will be here when she gets here. And I am content with that.

This is absolutely stupid- but you realize a GT will get me into A LOT of trouble? Those cars have a lot of kick under the hood. Super power. I really don't care, as long as I get one and if its something that doesn't make him scowl every time he writes a payment out, so be it. We may however wind up killing each other over the sharing of it. He says- NO girl in it, so I won't be embarassed like I am when I drive your car now.

I had heard somewhere that an 05 v6 was the equivalant of an 04 gt, so what does that make an 05 GT compare to?

oh man.
what a predicament
dont worry about the power April, you'll be getting a better car overall. I might be stuck getting the V6 in a couple of years, but I would love to get the GT.

V6's and redfire's look incomplete? Jaguars?

He has a love affair with the jag, as we do.....

At Atlanta, they had a redfire v6, and bunches of Gts, they were both lined up fixing to go racing- I pointed to the one on the right which was the v6, and said ME WANT. He said- Look at the grill, looks like they forgot something, I hate it. So I felt compelled to bug and beg till I could get him to go see one up close and in person. He still hates it......But he loves the space inside and the way the interior looks on both.

It seems, April, that you are having some sort of reaction or withdrawl from not having a Mustang in your driveway, specifically, the hard to get 2005 model. AND you don't really care which one you bring home, as long as it's home. Your willing to get any color and any trim, just a freakin' Mustang already. Yes?

But, alas, your husband, poor soul, is not in lust with the car, which makes you sad. But now, to top it off, he now insists that, since you MUST have one, it MUST be a GT because HE likes it... Wha...?

Now, April, I'm not saying anything, but... You oughtta just get a V6 and be done with it. It looks like, except on rare occasion, he wants nothing to do with the thing. And it'll save everyone, not only in your family, but us too! Mustang withdrawl can be a very dangerous problem, so you should have it attended to right away.

So get YOUR car (it's not like you're trying to fit a Suburban in a Mustang, you have an Alero, yes?) and let him do whatever he wants (within reason) for a Jag. (Which I don't get, but that's another story. Any idea what's the matter with him? )

Otherwise, if you are in withdrawl much longer, we all will probably end up hearing about you cutting off your hubby's appendages or something. Seems to be goin' around town here in Houston...

You need to make YOU happy. And that way, your hubby can be happy too... right? (wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more...)

I'm no marriage counselor, but I DID stay at my own house last night...

Yep it is best to have a balance on a credit car, but not close to your limit, this shows that you are responsible with your credit and can pay your bills on time.

Don't close your credit cards, but you don't need a balance. If you pay it off every month but not have a balance that is good.

Ahhhhhhhh Compromise.

And as I adore him, he will be staying..

I will be waiting as long as 2006 for a gt---------but only for spinning bullitts(and some cool color). But if sometime in the spring a lovely silver and black manual showed up from the dealer........well..........AFTERMARKET!!

Its all good.

I always want a FORD. My husband suggests other cars ,but I usually don't like any.I had a Chrysler mini van once,it gave me trouble,I complained about it a lot! -so he never bothers me any more. I ask his opinion, but I"M deciding & it's MY car. He bought a Chevy truck last time I don't like it,but he does. I like the idea of trading off the husband! You won't be sorry about having a GT though!!

April, get a credit card, put it in a baggie of water and freeze it. Just don't use the darn thing. I too used to have a love for the plastic - now am totally debt free and will never go back, but do have a credit card just in case and my wife occasionally picks something up with it and then promptly mails in a check to pay it off.

Good luck with the GT.......

Just heads up-
I didn't say I was now getting a GT......If the stars line up and the planets smile, sure..... I love em best.(that sound, that power!) But I really really really like the cosmetics on the v6. He of every mustang, likes the 04 style, but if he could pick a mustang, he'd have to go for ole four eyes. (And he IS buying for it for me).

I am starting to face mustang reality right now. Until that dangblasted olds is sold, paid off, or hit by a VERY rich old biddy nothing can happen. Yet another way for it to stick me with a hot poker. Since I owe on it, and the mileage renders it worthless, it is a liability. Soon, Soon.......I have waited this long.

Oh, and the decision has been made, barring the resurrection of some kind of Competition Orange(Ford, can you hear me?) that she is silver and black. No matter what species she is.

Nope, No cc for me ever. Had an all time high of like 5, and they were nothing but trouble(oh look, I like that, charge it!). I don't care what good they do for your credit. Been there did it, know from the numerous times I am in Old Navy or the mall and say if I only had a CC, or look at an Ad for Jamaica...... T-R-O-U-B-L-E....

Oh, and I wouldn't turn a Jag down if it happened to show up.....The owner of the local ford dealer drives one, they must be cool.

If you close your cards and pay for everything in cash, you don't need credit. I know, it is not always possible for everyone.

I wish you good luck. However, if he thinks the '04's are the best looking Mustangs ever, i can only say their is no accounting for lack of taste. Don't get me wrong, i think the '04's are nice enough looking. But, i can name a dozen model years that look much better. And, the '05's are near the top of that list. They only take a back seat to a couple of models from the '60's. Of course, these are just my opinions.

I feel for you April. And, i hope you get the car you really want, and don't get talked into something you won't be happy with.

Good Luck April!

Maybe you could leave the Alero at the mall with the keys in it.

Something is WRONG with me......

I was on a mad hunt for a fuse for my stupid heat pump, and was coming home successfull. An obliviot pulled out in front of me to cross the highway, and instead of Tboning her I put on the brakes. Dangit!

For the record:

An 05 mustang, most any 05 mustang will do me fine.....I just don't care long as it comes home. No preference, none I like more than the other. Just one will do fine. Hades, I would take a test mule, I don't care.
