More commodities issues

Just got this e-mail from Ford:
2005 Model Mustang Scheduling (All Markets) (Revised) 2:00 PM
Please be advised that we have been notified of a shortage of spoilers for the remainder of the month of December. To ensure we have buildable orders, we have taken the following action:
· All units with spoilers (GTs and V6s with the Exterior Sport Package) will be COS'ed out for tonight's scheduling.
To ensure your dealers receive their allocation and we have buildable orders, we need your assistance with the following:
· Review dealer's allocation and request they submit V6 orders without the Exterior Sport Appearance Package.
(The Exterior Sport Appearance Package includes the spoiler)
· The dealer can order the new 18R Interior Sport Appearance Package (not the 18G Interior Upgrade Package) on all V6 orders for the week.
We apologize for the late notice and the significant impact of this request. Unfortunately, a major supplier issue arose late yesterday and we need your assistance in ensuring we continue to produce Mustangs for our dealers.
We will advise of the next steps tomorrow.

I'm not sure what COS'd means, I'll see what I can find out.

Hate to have to pass info like this along. By the way this shouldn't effect anyone who is already scheduled to be built. It should only effect new or unscheduled orders.

OK this is just getting too crazy! My order is supposed to pulled this week w/spoiler. I hope it makes it in! I can't believe they are having so many supplier issues with such an important car for Ford......Isn't the spoiler made in Canada? Maybe some of our Canadian friends can take a trip to the plant and get it straightened out!!!

- Someone messed up bigtime and wrecked a whole batch of spoilers
- Equipment failures
- Workers depressed because of NHL lockout
