I ordered my car last December and received it in May. I thought those were the longest months of my life, but I was wrong. Having my car sitting in the garage since November with no hopes of driving it until at least April, is much worse! This is nuts.....I even had a dream (nightmare) the other night that I was driving the car, trouble was I had the windows down and I couldn't even hear the exhaust. I need help.

I'm sure I'll get responses from people in the warm weather states telling me how they get to drive theirs year round, and I'm truly happy for them. I'm just looking for a little sympathy from people in the same boat.

Tom,

I know exactly how you feel...

What cheers me up is knowing that I can spend some extra $$ on goodies from the money I save taking it off insurance.

I'll probably take mine for a quick spin around the block if the weather and salt on the roads clears up a bit.

Cheer up, only 8 more weeks until the snow starts disappearing. Once there is no salt on the roads, i'm back

Good point on the mods....I'm stockpiling now.

I wish it was only 8 more weeks. I live 90 miles from Montreal and we've seen 6 inches of snow here on Mother's Day. Granted, that's not an annual event, but we typically get snow well into April.

Roger - I don't envy you guys having to deal with hurricanes...that would be a real drag!

I keep counting the days until my car goes back on the road. It should have been in the shop right now getting repainted but looks like they bumped my appointment until end of Feb. so if I am lucky I will get it back the first nice day we have. Not only is it hard to look at my car just sitting there but it is too cold for me to even work on it. So many plans, so little time.

I pick up my car in about 2 weeks. Im currently in Iraq and im looking more forward to picking up the Mustang then seeing my family! How sad is that? And to top it off I lost my D.L. and credit card back around christmas so I have to get new ones as soon as I get home! Plus I sold my car before I got deployed so I had to turn in my tags so i have to go get new tags and explain to my insurance why i've been uninsured for a year.

I know how you feel. I have an attached garage, and I have to see the car just sitting there, every time I go outside though the garage.

I have driven my car a grand total of about 8hrs in last three months so I now how you all feel.

Its winter here and there was snow for about almost three weeks, but the last 12 days have been warm, no snow no salt. But alas the car is too loud and my wife needs her sleep (expecting) so I have been driving our Tundra full time. Just the occasional spin to get the stang warmed up like for an hour or two 1 day about every two weeks is killing me.

Just sitting there....

p.s. Danny from which part of IL did you move from ? I just moved here from California and I love it. Southern California OC to Central Illinois.... ITs been awesome.

The first winter is the worst, after you re-activate in the spring you will appreciate the wisdom and sacrifice of using a winter beater and the next winter will be easier to manage...

Thats funny some to mention that today. I was thinking that its gotta be hard for the guys that store it in the winter months. I drove the g/f's car today and I was missing mine. One day! lol.
But no sympathy from me for the storage guys. Snow or shine, Ill drive mine.

I evacuate for hurricanes in my 2005. But I now put my 1965 in storage further inland for several months to protect it during hurricane season.

And your garage could get hit by a tornado in Kansas; or a mudslide in California; everywhere has its own problems.

I have only driven my Stang about 3 times since last April. I have to keep it at my father's house since the moron's at my apartment complex damaged it last April.

Luckily my wife and I are pretty much set to buy this house. It's a tiny house but has a garage that can easily fit 3 cars

Hey Tom,
You gotta be nuts bud....as you know, I ordered the same date as you and went thru all the same BS as you and more. There is no way I would trade having my Stang sitting in a garage waiting for me to get in and blast off on March 24th ( turning my insurance back on) which is a friday, my birthday is on March 26th, so this will be my B-day present to myself, for going back to CLEAN AND UNSCHEDULED for 4 1/2 months :bang: , then waiting anouther 5 weeks only to have the car arrive the wrong color :bang: , then wait another 6 weeks for them to build me another car :bang: , Oh and lets not forget the stupid F##$%%^ ROBOT B#@$** that I was calling 3 times a week :bang: , and the uneducated bum dealership that never knew anything :bang: . No thank you, I will take my present situation hands down...and as somebody already mentioned, I could use the money I saved by suspending the insurance to pay for part of the mods I plan on doing this year .
I think it will start feeling longer and maybe I will start getting more anxious around the beginning of March or the end of Feb.
Tom, your engaged to a girl your crazy about, you got your health, a great job, and the HOTTEST new muscle car on the scene today( at least in our price range...lol). COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!
Dave
PS: I forgot about burning millions of hours( when I need to be doing other things) on this great site every night since I have ordered this car, I am a TMS addict for sure ...I am the one who needs the help !

If it makes you feel any better Tom my Mustang has been off the road since the begining of september and only fired it up this holiday season just to get some oil moveing again and it looks like I might not have this back on the road till april .

On top of that I'm being moved to the other factory in town thats in a shady area of town with no outdoor security or fences ....so it looks like the Mustang is going to be used on weekends only untill I go back to the main plant this summer.
