Since we bought "Lucie" in April, on excelleration from a complete standstill, the rear end of the car seems to vibrate. Well, the 1st time I took it in for service(about a month ago) was for the struts popping, and I mentioned the vibration. They said the car was new and had to be broken in. (Never heard of that ). Anyway, parts (for struts problem) were ordered. They came in just 2 days ago....hubby took car in for repairs and mentioned the vibration again. This time he rode with the service guy and SHOWED him what was going on. Then the guy says, " Oh, that's the rear end. We'll have to replace it." Now we have to take Lucie BACK in and leave her for a bout a week or so. I am not pleased at all!! Hubby just installed XM Commander and I'm having to do without that, too. Anybody else have the vibration problem? Service guy said not to drive it any more than we HAVE to. I guess the rear end will just fall out!!

There is a TSB out on this. They need to place something in the differential, I think it was a magnet or something, to fix the problem.

It's a bit discomforting that the dealer doesn't seem (or claim) to know this kind of stuff and WE do. The internet is a good thing.

Thank you.......
I read these forums daily and find out all kinds of info just for this very reason.
The vibration has actually gotten worse since the 1st service trip. Hubby was going to be sure they knew about it on 2nd trip there.

and just in case take a look at the TSB section to see if anything there matches the issue you are having. That way you can even tell the dealer what the TSB # is.

HAHAHAHAHA.... :nono:
It only vibrates when moving from a stop. Sorry!
Anyway, service guy told hubby that the vibration and whine(when letting off excellerator pedal) is caused from the "chunk" going out. It has to be replaced.

Put Lucie in shop today for fix on struts and rear differential. Service guy says he may have to keep her about a week!! :bang: What choice do I have?
I haven't driven her in almost a week now, since we were told not to for fear of the rear end going out!! :notnice: She'll be good as new (hopefully) when they get-r-done!!

Gonna do my best!! I just don't understand why there are so many problems with these cars. Didn't anybody test them out before the owners got them?

I get a chattering noise(very mild) on start for a second or two.Is this what you are describing???I just thought my exhaust had a loose bolt.Maybe its this.I just noticed it recently(9000 miles now) cause I always have that shaker 1000 on and never noticed it.
