i changed my order to 18R from 18G because nonoe of the extra stuff like mycolor or the message center mattered to me. i just wanted the aluminum dash n i can do that with the aftermarket kit from woodview and i personally from the pics anyway, think it looks just as good and gives me the look i want.

The question is at some point after i get the car n the IUP issues are cleared up, if i ever wanted to lets say upgrade the instrument cluster to the 18G version, would that be something that could be done or is it incompatible?

I don't think we know yet unfortunately. I'll tinker with my brake lights, but I'm not stupid (or smart...take your pick) enough to tinker with the dash.

You might be able to email someone like Saleen or another aftermarket company...they've had lots of time to pull these things apart.

Good luck!

If you still want it why did you change to 18R?
By all the info here it looks like 18G will be available in Feb.
In the long run it will probably be cheaper and certainly easier.
That's only a few weeks away. I for one am waiting.
In a year I bet you wouldn't say to yourself "I really regret waiting those extra few weeks to get my IUP". Just my opinion. Your car, your money. Bottom line is you have to be happy with what you get.

I agree my dealer even called me today and said that there was no holds anymore and they will be starting with the IUP builds again very soon. For the price of the option it is not worth skipping it. Later on trying to "upgrade" could cost you over a thousand with labor and parts. If you want it get it and wait that extra week or two
