Used car dealer (top notch guy, actually) has a Redfire V6, cloth, auto, basic radio/single CD (not even the shaker 500), no IUP on his lot for 21950 -- next door (same property line) is the Ford dealer with a used Redfire V6, IUP, shaker 500, auto, leather, for 20,000. go figure.

The wrong price I suspect is on purpose, someone who notices might decide to "****** that deal up" before the dealers notice the "mistake"

I have seen V6's advertised below MSRP in newspapers.
Here locally, I have seen several V6s marked down $1,000, as they are just sitting on the lots. I haven't seen as amny GTs, but the ones I have seen are just at sticker.

Boy, that looks so professional, written in with a Sharpie! They could at least print something up and paste it on the window sticker. Stupid dealers!

1st of all I hope no V6 owners take offense to this because I am one of the very few GT owners that loves the V6 ant takes up for it on this site.

Now with that said I think I know one of the reasons that the V6 sits in these dealers lot and does nothing but gather dust. The reason is because most dealers have them marked up to 22, 23, and even up to 27 grand!! Im talking coupes by the way and not verts. So you would have to be crazy to pay that money when you can throw in another 2-3 grand and get a loaded GT. I got mine for 25 grand. Now jthats just my opinion and I could be wrong.

Its a game I guess. We will see what happens when everyone and their cousin is driving them in a couple of years. This high demand is doing nothing but hurting us owners. The harder its to get the more people will want to buy it. The more there is on the road the less they will be worth.
Hey David, you are right on the money with this. Where I work at, we had 5 coupes in stock, and now we are down to only 1 (my demo). and also a black V6 vert. We sold all the coupes at MSRP only, while all the other dealers in my area added anywhere from $1,500 to $4,000 over list. The black vert we got was actually from another dealer! They needed a car we had, and we asked for a Mustang back, and got a vert. When it arrived, it had a $3,000 "Market Adjustment" to it. Needless to say, WE TOOK THAT RIGHT OFF!! We have not and will not sell any car over MSRP. Its bad business to do this. All it does is lead to customers being unhappy at delivery.

I saw this sticker on a V6 05 at the dealer where I bought my car. There wasnt any add on's like stripes or wheels. What is "market adjustment"? I purchased mine back in Dec and there wanst anything like that on the sticker.
:nono: Dealers are trying to take advantage of a dwindling supply of people who do not know how to buy a car.To save yourself some money:

NEVER pay additional dealer mark-up.Do us all a favor and tell them it is an offensive practice.Watch their eyes when they try to defend it.If it sounds fishy and smells fishy...IT'S FISHY. Walk.

NEVER go in without invoice information and a set price you are willing to pay.Options have invoice prices too.Make them show you the invoice.

NEVER "fall in love" with a certain car.The same exact car is likely available elsewhere at better terms. The cars are mass produced and there are good dealers. Be rational...not emotional.

ALWAYS set a time deadline for yourself to be out of there and tell them about it.

ALWAYS be willing to walk when you see yourself being "jerked around" or stalled.
Don't get pulled into 'the war of attrition'.

ALWAYS know beforehand ifyou need/want an extended warranty.Check the internet for competitve prices.Remember you pay interest on the one at the dealership.

ALWAYS have a purchase agreement for an X plan or other such purchase.Make them commit in writing.

Last thing...Know exactly what you want before you go into buy.

None of you have seen any greed like the one to come in the near future. Just wait 'til you see the "Market Adjustment" on the new '07 Shelby 500 SVT cobra. This will **** you off for sure if you are like me and would like to buy one. forget the $40,000 projected MSRP, I'll bet you see these cars marked up to $65,000+ when they begin to hit the showroom floors............THANKS FORD DEALERS, SHOULD I GET THE KY JELLY AND BEND OVER NOW????

As long as the general public is stupid enough to pay a markup, the dealers will keep on charging over MSRP.

Relax....if you want to be the first in your area, yeah, it'll cost you more.
They will build enough to go around. Some fool who has too much money and too few brains will overpay. GT's are cooling off a bit now and the Shelby will also after it's been out a few months. There will be a whole bunch bought at MSRP or less...just not to begin with. Just hang out and let the fools rush in.
