Man Arrested Drag Racing Mustang Cop Car
This was on the news in Orlando, Fl. I copied it from their web site:
Man Arrested After Allegedly Drag Racing Police
A 24-year-old man in Seminole County, Fla., was arrested on suspicion of drag racing police officers in a their new undercover 2005 Ford Mustang GT car, according to Local 6 News.
After his capture, the man allegedly told officers that he had no idea that they were police and that the Mustangs fooled him, police told Local 6 News.
Police said Adam Rauscher approached two Seminole County deputies Tuesday on state Road 417 and allegedly wanted to race his Mustang against their Mustang, Local 6 News reported.
"As the vehicle passes, estimated going about 80 mph, it revved its engine," Seminole County sheriff's spokesman Andre Shoucair said. "The driver pushed the clutch in, revving its engine, which is an example of enticing a race."
Deputies said they chased Rauscher down at speeds topping 100 mph, Local 6 News reported. He was caught and charged with reckless driving.
After his capture, Rauscher allegedly told officers that he had no idea that they were police and that the Mustangs fooled him, police told Local 6 News.
Seminole County just received two Mustang GT units, replacing Crown Victorias. The cars have been on Central Florida roads for only about three days in July.
"The most (tickets) I have written in one month was 120, so we're three days into the month and we have a combined total of 100," Seminole County sheriff's deputy Sean Niles said.

Both Mustangs have dark tint with the blue lights hidden inside and in the grill. One is silver and the other is graphite, both with Bullitts, with no police markings at all.
Must be a fun job!

Man that stinks.I don't like the idea of undercover cop cars giving out tickets. It was just the other day that I got a ticket from a cop in an impala (it had police writing on the side but no lights up top). What really stinks is that I got a ticket for having a June inspection sticker in July. :bang:
Stick to smoking civics and eclipses
I don't know about you guys but I do drive around with radar on and any amercian car I see with window tint, I approach with caution. Fortunately tinting your driver's window is illegal so any car you see with it is either an idiot or a cop.

The guy definately deserved it but since when does revving your engine mean you are enticing a race. I have done that just to get friends attention. What's next, getting a ticket for road rage because you honk your horn at someone.

No crap what do they expect when they are driving a new 05 Mustang GT. All kinds of cars are going to try to play around with it. It's basically like a undercover cop walking around with a sign that says free crack giveaway to bust junkies. You know the Tyrone Biggins of the world are going to flock to it. lol

This undercover junk has got to go. I don't know about you all but I don't pull over for just anyone who pulls out a light and sticks it on top of their car. I won't pull over until I see a cop car that is decaled and cops in uniform. If everyone has to stop for undercover cops, then what is to stop me from taking out a light, pulling someone over and robbing them. They will be taken by suprise because they think I'm a cop. Also this is a great way for people to be obducted. I know these cops think it's fun crusing around in tax payer funded muscle cars, but this is just crap.

Best thing to do is pull over and when the officer walks up, roll down your window enough to speak to them and ask for a marked unit to be present because you've heard about people being pulled over and robbed (or worse) by imposters. Just be repectful and cool about it. Or you can keep on driving, refusing to pull over and before you know it you'll have several marked units on your bumper. And you'll get a free trip downtown, too.
