major bummer
We drove through that area a few weeks ago and the reservoirs where scary looking. Never seen anything that low.
Hope for a rainy April as you guys need it down there before things get any worse.
Waterless Car Wash
I have been using a waterless car wash since 1993. It is called Dri Wash and Guard. If the car is really filthy, you should not use it until it is washed to remove mud, salt, etc.
But for those times when it is just dusty, which is most of the time, for me, it works wonders. It also applies a UV protectorant and sealer. You can even use it on the glass, and bugs wipe off with a damp cloth. Wipers do not squeek.
I have never had it scratch a car, to include my current GT/CS. They have a long list of products that do not require water. Google the product name for a retailer near you, or you can mail order as I do.
I am not affiliated with the company, just a happy consumer. I apply the product using the spray bottle and cotton towel, do not be stingy!!! I then use micro fiber cloths to wipe it off in lieu of a cotton towel, wipe off with one and lightly buff with the second. In sure both are always clean. For a really killer shine, wipe down with a damp towel after buffing and then dry with the micro towel. You can wash the car, between uses, with just plain water, no soap. I usually wipe her down, in the garage, after a drive to remove the road dust. A half bucket of water and two cloths, no hose.
Hope this is helpful.

Use Prolong's Waterless Wash and Shine...I've used it for years (I can't remember the last time I've had to use a bucket and water)...a bit expensive, but definitely worth it. I go through about 2 gallons a year (for all of my outside cars)...Use it about 2 times a week and your baby will always look great (use Invisible Glass spray for the windows).
Fantastic Stuff...

Not to rain on John's parade...but I tried Dri Guard once and I've found Prolong's Waterless Wash and Shine product to be much better (easier to apply...even in a little wind, smells better, cleans better, and leaves a wonderful shine)....you can even "thin it out" a little with some water and it still works great. You will need to get a sprayer for it...spray it on lightly and it will work great (a little more for your rocker panels, wheels, etc. where there will be a bit more dirt)...
For touch-ups in-between I use Eagle One's Wipe and Shine (instead of Meguiar's Quik Detailer)...leaves a slicker surface...
