Looking for a good pair of driving gloves.

I don't normally wear gloves while driving. But this past winter was a cold winter, and bought a pair of thin winter gloves. The only problem was that they wouldn't grip my leather steering wheel.

I have a pair of mechanic gloves that I have only used for driving, but they are bright yellow. I would like something a little more subtle, like black or dark brown.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I've run into this problem in the past. People that don't live in the North just wouldn't understand. I used cheap winter gloves that have the fake leather palms like the Freaky Freezy gloves they had in the past, but a LOT more subtle. I have leather hunting gloves with 3M thinsulate that I wear if it isn't too cold (20F+). When it is in the single digits or below 0F, I break out the winter gloves.

If you're looking for grip try these:

Probably not what you're looking for exactly but I use them for work and shooting and have no problems at all. They do have others you might be interested in.

If you want grip, you could always go with WR gloves....I still have some of those around the house from my younger days. They definitely have grip and you can even find some that are fairly warm....but they are definitely athletic looking, so depends on the look that is acceptable to you. Of course, if you go with all black, it is less noticeable.

Living in NJ I know what you mean. I don't drive my Mustang in winter if it can be helped, but I do love a nice pair of leather gloves for driving. I usually have some heavy winter gloves for doing the car cleaning etc... but always have a pair of good leather gloves tucked away in a pocket of my coat -- so my hands are warmn and dry for steering. I also have Renauds syndrome so keeping my hands covered in the cold is simply a must do thing. I got a great pair of deerskin gloves with thinsulate in them at Macys last year so I am set for this winter.

I'll do that when Ford has heated steering wheels and shifters... The heat in the Stang comes out really quickly, but not enough to overcome -10F ambient within 30 seconds!!
