I've had my 05' Mustang for about 5 months now and It was driving me crazy that it didn't have a locking gas cap (or locking door). Its 2005 and almost every new car I have seen has a locking fuel doot. I wanted one like this:

But they still don't make them for '05. So I finally settled for a cheap locking gas cap form Fordparts.com. It looks like this:

Its the only one I could fine..... Was about 21.00 bucks.

Does this bother anyone else??????? Any other solutions?

I'd actually prefer something like that, never liked the whole Mitsubishi Eclipse look with the silver door.

Mine from Ford didn't look like that. Just an open keyhole, no Ford cover over it. Hatch's truck has one like that though.

There is no locking gas cap listed for the 05 Mustang, yet. There are, however, some caps made by Ford that do fit on the Mustang perfectly, keep gas in, keep thieves out, and don't pop the SES or Check Gas Door lights, so to me, that is a suitable replacement. I bought it from my dealer, who isn't going to void my warranty for it, so don't even bring that up. And I sure don't need a BP ad to make my car run.

The two dealerships I talked to didn't have one listed for the 05, but found one for an 04 F150 FX4 that fit. Part number is 4L3Z9K163AA

Has anyone tried the 04 gas cap on an 05?

I ordered mine from 05stangkc and it works great. Talk to him and he will take care of you. He works for a Ford dealership in CA and takes care of TMS Members.

That just means you need to come up with more things to buy to justify the shipping!

I ordered at the end of last month when he had a special going on shipping. I also got the try Pony Package floor mats and the rear tri-bar pony emblem.
