Locking fuel caps

Does anyone have suggestions on where to buy locking fuel caps? I was not able to find one in the online ford accessories catalog, however I did find one on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...em=8058611187). Any suggestions would help. Thanks!

The thing with a locking gas cap is that you need some form of a key which means there`s a key slot. To break into one all you need to do is take a screwdriver and jam it into the slot to lock up the mechanism and then twist to remove the cap. Save your money.

Good point... however I am one of those unfortunate people who happens to live next to psycho neighbor. So what I am really looking for is a deterrent against someone putting something into the gas tank (undetected) verses taking gas out.

I did find a locking gas cap (base part no. 9030) in a 2005 ford catalog (http://www.fordaccessories.com/catal...20Catalog.pdf). I'm not sure why it wasn't in the 2007 catalog.

Same here. I have it for over a year now - works like it should. Stant caps are pretty good - the are made in the USA

After all the gas stealing after the hurricanes here in FL, it's almost a requirement to have a locking gas cap. All locks can be picked or broken, but it might just get them to go to the next car next door instead of yours.

Had one for a year, works great.

Is that the Ford part # for the 2005-up Mustang GT locking gas cap?

I found Motorcraft #
FC1005, also listed as a locking gas cap for a 2005 Mustang GT.

John,
We have fuel doors in our catalog but none that actually lock. Sorry. Not sure where to find these.

gas cap

I just got mine from Checker Auto Parts, it is a Stant and works like a charm. they shipped it in overnight no extra cost and it can even be used with the gas cap holder from the factory if you choose

So FC-1016 is the correct Motorcraft part number for the 05-07 Mustang GT locking gas cap? I asked my local Ford parts dealer and they do not have any locking gas caps listed for S197 GTs.

Easy install, works like a charm.

Being a grown up azz man, yes the FC-1016 works.

No the dealer is not going to have one listed, but this one worked.
