:nono: The dealer ship sends me a notice that they want to buy back my 05 gt. Well I picked up my stang last October and put it away in November for the winter. So Thursday I walked in to the dealer and said so you want my car. They said yes and how many miles on the car and I told them 110 miles. They asked what color I said Sonic Blue. They say they have been only able to get 4 GT total since last year and 1 being mine. So asked how much you going to give me they said 500 below sticker. I laphed and walked out. I got mine for 24,500 and if new it would be 26,000 + or -. did not pay delivery fees on it.
so has any one else been asked to sell there car back ......

My dealer has now asked me to sell my car about 5 times and has offered me $2000 more than I paid for the car. Like I said to them I wanted the car more than the money

I'd consider selling mine back to the dealer for $500 under sticker....just not Mustang (GT) sticker!

haha, that's too funny, amazing what some dealers will do. Just think once they buy your car back, they will jack up the price to 26+ !!

What this means to me is that the dealers want to buy the cars back to sell them at over MSRP. We know that dealers have been doing this anyway, but no way would I ever HELP them do it...not even if it benefitted me. I applaud you for not helping the dealer screw another customer :headbang:

I agree they are just going to turn around and make more money on something they sold already. Im just waiting for them to call again and beg and plead for it. There is no way I will give this car up.

I miss the days when mine had 110 miles ---- im due for another oil change! Going back and forth to Louisiana (hometown) is putting some miles on my car!! But for a long drive, it sure is a comfortable ride. Makes driving fun! Plus, can't get enough of the stares and pointing

I heard from my paint guy that he heard that 2005 was the last year Ford will ever make a car in Mineral Grey. Not sure if he had been sniffing paint.

I would never sell back my car... not unless they wanted to give me 10 grand more than what I put into it.

I don't know if they will NEVER offer Mineral Grey on any car ever again, but I think it's a pretty safe bet that Mineral Grey will not be a color choice for the 2006 MY Mustangs. It's all but been confirmed (actually, I think it HAS been confirmed) that Mineral Grey will be replaced with Tungsten Silver, which is a really awesome color. I would actually rather have the Tungsten Silver, but I was just too impatient to wait for an '06 :P

Yeah, I thought he might be sniffing too much paint lately. But I love Mineral Grey. It's my favorite color of all time. Wouldn't trade it for any other color.

Here's another dealer story for ya'. In Florida, the state buys items on bids, cars and such. Units of government can buy the vehicles at state bid price, which is lower than what the public can purchase them for.
Dealers have been going to state bid outlet dealers and buying 2005 Mustangs under the state bid price, as if they were reselling to governement. However, they have been turning around and selling the 2005 Mustangs (read GT's), to the general public at MSRP or higher. Folks, this is a criminal offense. I believe an investigation is underway and there can be some big legal trouble for dealers. This is going to get interesting. :nono:

Anyone heard of dealers selling cars out from under people?

I have yet to be able to get the VIN for my wife's car from the dealer. BTW, her Mineral Grey GT Vert is scheduled for the week of 4/25. One person posted with the suggestion that the dealer may be holding back on the VIN with the intention of selling the car for more profit and telling me that mine never came through. That would really stink! :bang:

I am attempting to remain optimistic, but as time passes it is harder to do.

Last weekend I saw an 05 GT Convert (new) on a dealer's showroom for $44,900.
I'm thinking that there is a perception among some Ford dealers that this is the time to gouge folks on Mustangs.

Guess if Ford won't get them cars to sell, dealers figure they'll get whatever profit they can squeeze the public for from what Mustangs they have or can get a hold of!!

I bought my 05 on October 20th 2004.
When I was signing the paperwork, a Flordia Dealership called and offered the dealership 35,000 for the car that I bought, which was the first 05 GT that this dealership received. In October, it was impossible to find an 05. Luckily the paperwork was already in process, and the 05 would be mine, as opposed to being shipped off to Florida.
I actually heard about 6 people at the dealership congratulating me for buying the car for what I did.
