Link to Bullitt thread with description of package from Ford

Just wanted to post a link to the thread I started over in the Bullitt section. Its a link to the email I received from our Zone Rep, with full description of the package, with price and number to be made, PLUS a picture!! I won't post the pic in that link till 6 pm though (per Ford's photo-embargo).

Bullitt writeup from Ford Zone Rep Link

I am mixed about this. I guess the excitement isn't there like the 2001. No reason to consider a trade-in since the 400hp didn't materialize. Save my money and add upgrades to mine. I still get excited when I see a 2001 Bullitt. Maybe the high price and higher production numbers hurt. Then again when I see one in person maybe the excitement will be there again.

The dash looks like cheesy 70's. Why not brushed aluminum?

I mean am I the only one let down by the VERY modest HP increase here? I was expecting maybe 340 or so. I'm sure it feels good with the additional 15hp and the 3.73s but still, we're just not getting the middle of the spectrum HP increases on these SEs I've been expecting. There is a huge gap between 315 or 325 and 500hp. The Boss had better be around 400.

For reference, the '01 Bullit had (offically) 5hp, or a 2ish% increase. By comparison, the '08 Bullt has a 15hp, or a 5% increase. Proportionally, it averages out better, and yet people STILL complain.

Then remember that Ford NEVER promised anything signifigant, but y'all made up in your minds that it just HAD to have a natural-aspirated GT500 motor... it's not like the old, real Bullitt was faster or more powerful than either of the new ones. Richard Hammond's '67 GT390 4-speed pulled 250hp to the wheels if I remember my TopGear episodes; that's less than a stock regular GT these days, with a 1.7l smaller motor.

Some people never quit?
