I heard rumor that the production was going to be limited in 2005 to only 15,000 units. I don't know if this was for the GT or V6 or both combined. Has anyone heard the production numbers yet?
I have a Screamin Yellow V6 and LOVE it. It's as fast as I could possibly want it to be. It's not great on gas so I can imagine what kind of gas mileage the GT gets! I have had it for almost a month and it only has 250 miles on it!

That's rediculous. Ford will make 180,000 Mustangs this year.

Mustang sales for October and November totaled just over 22,000. I'm sure that those numbers include some 04 models, but I suspect most of them are 05 models.

Ford crossed the 30K mark last week! Brad's post is going to be real close to the final number when the model year is done.

From: Beautiful New Hampshire!!!
As of the 12th, we had already built over 36,000 and at the rate of about 1000 a production day, should surpass the goal of 39,000 by years end(calendar year). BTW, I'm chronically sleep-deprived!!

Thanks everyone for answering my question. Sorry to be so stupid Brad. I just know that at my dealership there have only been 3 total and they had to do a dealer trade to get mine. We bought a new Ford Truck and an 05 Mustang so they figured they could find me the one that I wanted! We drove to Dallas to look around and none of the dealerships had more than 2 or 3.

You're not stupid; many salesmen will tell you anything to get you to buy today.

1000 per day. Dayum.... and to think I still have only seen one on the road (and it was a V6). I see more Cobras, and there were a lot less of those created. I think all the 05's must be going to the East Coast

There are 3 in my town that have sold. My yellow V6, a Silver GT and a Black V6 and those are the only ones around my town in TX. I can't go ANYWHERE in mine without people pulling up in a parking lot to look at it. When I park it at my business, I think people are coming to my shop and instead they park and get out to look at my car.
I have had it for a month. It had 127 miles on it when I got it (they drove it back from the dealer trade town) and it now as 280 miles. I drive a 1/2 mile to work and back every day so hopefully it will stay a low mileage driver.

Amen to that.

So much bad info comes from "My local ford dealer said".

With 26,512 on quality hold That puts it at higher then 04 number with a hella less number of cars making dealers lots We had 130+ in-stock this time last year, and still have only seen about 15 GT's so far to date.

North Central Ford in Richardson has a bunch in stock; I love checking out the inventory while I get an oil change. Last time I was there, a week ago, they had fifteen in stock...

But fourteen of them were V6s, most of which had automatics

Talking to a salesman there, he said that they can barely keep a GT on the lot, the one GT they had displayed had been there less than a day and they'd had three serious offers on it, and they won't even let you sit in a GT unless you're willing to sign a commitment paper first

But they had plenty of the V6s... seems like the V6s are starting to overstock since everyone wants a GT and they just keep turning out the V6s anyway...
