Thanks all of you !! This sure made my day !!

Today I got all the paper work done and had the leather treated and had the oil & undercoating put on the stang .When it came to final inspection I noticed that the rear lower seat bottom was that of a charcoal 6 leather interior  .

I did not notice this because as you see in the pic's it was all bagged in the plastic .I had to prove to them that this was wrong from the factory ....so we went to the lot and found a black GT with the dark charcoal leather interior ....and sure enough I was right !! The dealer was just floored he could not belive that they had done this .Picture's were taken and the regional manager was informed of what happened ! The quick and easy solution for me was that they would give me the black GT rear seat and take there car out for a month rather than me wait for a new bottom back seat to arrive.

Now thats service !
And I didn't even ask them to do this they asked me if this was ok and if I didn't mind .I think that was very big of them because now they can't sell there car on the lot untill the new one comes in for at least a month.

Oh by the way I loaded up the shaker 500 hit random and the first song the car picked was "MY Love" by Paul Mc Cartney.....Hmmm might have more of a christeen than a Lime Jenny here

That was a long wait, but it looks like it was worth it. How dose the the wait look from the other side?

Beauty...are they gonna also fix the Iup door and missing bolts?

Im thinking LL is becoming the classic color for 05.

Any planned modes?

Mustang Dan ....if you are willing to wait a few months for a car that you always wanted ,with everyting the way you want it ...and you plan to keep this car for a very long time ....it was more than worth the wait .

Tom _vilsack..yes they have ordered the missing parts (IUP and bolts) Plus Some parts have been ordered already now that the car is here .The spinners have been ordered as well as the factory car cover....other mods to include sequential tail lights and that missing engine intake cover with matching valve covers (if they ever make them),Duel lemans racing stripes in dark charcoal mettalic with outer trailing pin line stripes.

The Sequential tail lights will be ordered next after the first parts come in then this summer I will get the stripes done if everything goe's well.

You're right, Craig. Your dealer sounds like they've got your best interests at heart. Stick with them; they're more valuable than gold.

It's unusual to hear about items that were missing or incorrectly installed. In the car restoration hobby, the folks called that a "holiday," meaning someone was busy thinking about the coming weekend or a vacation while they should have been concentrating on assembling your car! The dealer will no doubt check things more carefully in the future. You were wise to give the car a close inspection. I'm definitely going to take my time looking over my car for anything that seems out of place.

I like the comment someone made about the car looking out the window and wanting to play. Drive carefully and enjoy! I'm looking forward to hearing your impressions, as well as any mods you undertake. Your car is a twin for the one I ordered, except for the spoiler. Can't wait for mine to arrive, but knowing it's in the order bank makes me feel better.

Now get out there and drive! :drive:

Thanks

Chris the first thing I thought just like hellcat6/drew is that it did look like it wanted to go out to play And the more i think of it I would have liked the spoiler delete but it is not avalable in Canada (must be something to do with the spoiler being Canadian )And there will be a few minor mod's along the way but nothing to change the car radically ,I like the way it came out from ford

Just to let everyone know that i had a friend of mine over to see the new stang and told him about all the parts that were missing .As we went over the car he found another one ! the passenger side fender grommet that the hood rests on when closed is missing as well ...yet the drivers side is there  .
Phoned the dealer the next day to let him know and it was no problem a new one is now on the way .

So any of you out there picking up your stang soon please go over it you never know what you might find ....or not.

Heres the list of missing or wrong parts : standard trans inspection cover bolts 2 missing.
IUP passenger rocker missing
wrong back seat bottom (that or the v6)
passenger side fender gromet for hood support.

Good catch, Craig! Mustang enthusiasts are bound to be more discerning than ordinary Mustang buyers. Good work. I'm going to take my sweet time making sure everything is in place when mine comes in...

Chris also check for the front windshield in the corners top and bottom ,some of the people here like Adrenalin had this problem and the whole windshield had to be replaced .And if you have the activated alarm system check to see that the power window drop from the key fob is working ....some have been turned off at the factory .You can check this by having the alarm on and holding the button down on the unlock for about 3 seconds longer after you hear the doors unlock...at that point all the windows in the coupe will do a power drop so you are ready to go and hit the road. :drive:

Rip,

My car is still on "rail" so hopefully it will get here soon. But reading over your posts I am still trying to determine what kind of problem you had w/ the back seat. Did you order charcoal leather and received cloth for the backseat? And there are bolts missing from the trannie cover plate? I will try to go back to review but could you clarify these 2 points for me?
