I do remember when I learned to drive that the rule of thumb was 1 car length for each 10 mph. Now the Connecticut Driver's Manual goes with the 2 second rule:
At 10 MPH you travel 29.3 feet in 2 seconds...that's about 2 car lengths, depending on the car!

I have been followed by a cop and if I lean over to get my papers they see my very noticeable Bald spot they let me go on my way and will call off the "chase"

So...
Did you read my post on the first page about how the cops in Dustin's town (my town) pulled over my 65 year old mother for no good reason?
Your bald spot will do you no good here. That's why in 30 years of driving here I've never shaved my head.

Four stops..... 1 more and you'll be an ace. But it goes to show ya, cops can stop you for just about anything. They can say they saw you "swerve" or like you, following too close, whatever.

If they want to hassle a guy, its best to not get into a urinary release contest with them, you'll just get wet.

At least you got a nice complimentary vision on the way home.

If a cop pulled me over just to look my car over I would have the chief on the phone as soon as I got home

And what if I stopped you for for a violation of the V&T (no matter how minor is was) and asked about your car? Are you gonna talk yourself into tickets or are your going to humor the nice Trooper who is missing his mustang and likes to meet people with similar interest in cars?

I've had a few cops ask me about my car, but they asked me when I was in a parking lot or at a red light. I don't agree with an officer abusing their authority pulling someone over solely for the reason to ask them questions about their car.

You REALLY want to **** a cop off? Get a laser jammer (legal in all states except CA, VA, OH, and parts of Hawaii). It's hilarious to watch them bang on their little revenue-gun and try to figure out what's wrong with it.

NJ State Troopers just got a bunch of laser guns and they're finally being filtered down to central NJ, so I needed to get one. Laser detection is useless... basically a ticket notifier. A quality radar detector (Escort X50 or Valentine 1) and a quality laser jammer (Lidatek, Blinder, Escort ZR3) are needed to protect you against speeding tickets and give you enough time to slow down before the laser gun punches through the jammer. If you have a front license plate, Lasershield couldn't hurt, either.

Yes, I do. A Lidatek jammer. Blinder and the Escort ZR3 are two other good laser jammer companies.

If you want some good reviews of laser jammers and radar detectors, go to either of these links:

Speed Countermeasures Forum - The best speed countermeasure forum on the net. Run by former police officer, Radar Roy.

Honest, unbiased laser jammer reviews! - Laser jammer reviews. Punch-through range and more. They're about to have another Laser Jammer Shootout at the end of April!

Speed Countermeasure Store - A great place to purchase radar detectors, laser jammers, and passive laser countermeasures like VEIL (lowers reflectivity of license plate and headlights) and Lasershield (license plate). Run by Radar Roy, former cop.
