I got the call yesterday that all the parts were finally in to fix the popping noise. I got there 1st thing this morning and had a nice surprize. I have had to drop my car off several times for warranty work and a couple of repairs. I have hated it because they have always given me a Focus, Taurus and one time even a van!! Well, this morning I drove off with a 05 Mustang V6 - mineral grey with tan leather. I dont care for the tan lether though. I think the black looks much better in this car. It was almost a Windveil Blue but it was being serviced. I must say that the mineral grey is starting to grow on me.

At this point they can take all week until they fix my car since I have another 05 Stang. Its like having a new car again but a V6 instead.

Let me also say that the V6 will get up and go. I have not played with it much yet as I came straight to the office but I look forward to.

I will let you guys know what the end result with the repairs is after I pick my car up.

Yea, tan seats were an option when I bought my black V6, but it just didnt look right to me. I got the charcoal seats --- and am very pleased with the look.

The V6 does have plenty get up and go.... Im satisfied with her. 'Course, Im not looking to race anyone anyhow

The V6 is a great car!!! The HP in my GT is nice but I dont look to race either so I would have been 100% satisfied with the V6 as well. I think that some people who get a GT just to race others have issues. Unless if its racing on the track.

By the way, just for the records I am not saying that all people are like this just a few. (I dont need any bashing now)

I was somewhere on the way from New Orleans to Houston last weekend and a white V6 got on the interstate and tried to race me. They are pretty fast. It was no contest, of course... but I was impressed he could keep up as much as he did.

David, is your rental an auto? I assume that it is. I drove the V6 auto and own a manual.....big difference in my opinion, the 4.0 is no slouch with the auto but really goes with the manual. Let us know what you think after a few days.

(Of course when you get your GT back you'll remember why you got the V8 )

They expect to have the car done by today. They said there is a very small chance that it takes a day longer since mine is the 1st one they have worked on with this fix. Kind of scares me but I do have faith in them. I do hope that it takes them until tomorrow so I can keep this V6 a little longer.

Yeap, without a doubt its no slouch and it is an auto. My GT is a 5 speed so its nice to have a break from the constant shifting. It is sweet. I would love to see how a auto V8 handles but its sounds like it does well.

I thought it was strange that I got mineral grey since the car I test drove before I ordered was the same exact car but with the dark interior instead of the tan.

I am starting to think that the mineral grey might be go on my list of favorite colors. If I ever had one though it would have to have the red interior.

I hope you do to. Good luck.

I am telling you I was in complete shock because I was really hating the time I was going to be apart from my Stang (even for 1/2 a day). I know...I have it BAD. I didnt even know until signed the paperwork. As I was signing the papers they said that I had 120 miles per day and I got thinking thats strange...usually there was no limit when they gave me a Taurus, Focus, VAN. Then I glanced over to the vehicle discription and a nice little grin came onto my face.

LMAO. YES IT WOULD but on the other hand its probably a good thing they didnt....I dont have "get out of jail card".

Plus, I can see myself when they called me to let me know that the car is ready I would start making up all these other problems for them to inspect. I would also be way over the 120 miles per day limit. :drive:

When I had the Mustang in the shop for the painted stripes, I had to rent from Enterprise (wife had a coupon) and was stuck with a Grand Prix. I was in heck for a week. Driving a Mustang as a rental car would have made it so much easier to be away from my baby.

Believe me, I feel your pain. I have had to leave my car in the past for a couple of days and I was in heck as well.

I think I know whats going on though. I had wrote a really nice letter to the owner of the dealer complimenting their body shop work and customer service. I bet the service department got word of this and thought they would surprize me with this rental. I had planned on writting another letter anyways for the service depoartment and the guy I am dealing with. This seems to have helped me a lot and plus its a good feeling doing something nice for others. They deserve it though as they are the best dealer I have ever come across.

I recommend you guys do the same if you have received good service from your dealer. From experience as a District Manager I know that I go that extra mile for my customers that I appreciate and respect.
