Thumbs up

Ok guys, I have skimmed the first 3 or 4 pages & the FAQ sticky & did a search but couln't find anything on this. If by chance it is already posted here then please just direct me to it & I can read it from there & then feel free to delete this.

But anywhoo, I was wondering exactly what the difference is between the Bucket Leather & the Sport Bucket Leather interior? I kinda have an idea but am not totally for sure about the difference & would really like to be know for sure. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I would like to know too. Maybe the sport buckets have more lateral support?

It sounds to me that there are 5 different types of seats.

Manual Cloth Bucket (V-6 Deluxe)
Powered Cloth Bucket (V-6 Deluxe Option or Premium Standard)
Powered Leather Bucket (V-6 Premium Option)
Powered Cloth Sport Bucket (V-8 Deluxe)
Powered Leather Sport Bucket (v-8 Deluxe Option or Premium Standard)*
*Also Optional in Red on all versions

Manual Cloth Non-Sport Bucket Seats. There should also be a powered version for this same seat.

I have combination leather and cloth seats on order. Don't see them pictured? They are shown in the Toronto car show Satin Silver 2005!

Personally, leather wears better and looks better. (Especially the ribbed ones ;-) But cloths are cooler in summer, and warmer in winter.

Honestly, what I care more about is extras. I didn't see if you could get them heated or cooled. I thought seat heaters were lame -- until I got them (in Ohio). Those darn butt warmers are the neatest things in cold winters or even long drives. (It gets the blood circulating and reduces fatigue).

Anyone here have experience with aftermarket seats? I know guys that replaced their rims and exhaust, but not seats.

If you wanted to re-do cloth seats a-la "Pimp my ride" how much are we talking about? I like seat warmers too, and the smell of leather, but it wasn't listed as a separate option when I ordered the car, and was too late by the time it was.

???

Kevin suggested that aftermarket heaters might cost about $500. That is only $125/ cheek.

Like any other mod, it's a question of how much you want to spend. APC seats can be had for $150 each, but probably are not worth the material they are made from.

For a real sport seat, like a Cobra or Corbeau, you are probably looking at $300 per seat minimum. And of course, it goes up from there. A nice set of Recaros can easily be $1500 each.

I's personally look at the midrange seats like the Corbeaus. They are 80% what the premium seats are, and les than 1/3 the price.

Good Luck!

Unforunately, you don't have those on order since they don't exist....

I have option K on order. Described as "leather-trimmed bucket." Dealer is checking but staff there said they were combination leather and cloth. That was on July 13th, when little information was available. I'll take either. JUST GIVE ME MY CAR!
Check showed they will be ventilated leather as shown in pic in this thread. Ribbed will do just fine, thank you.

Latest word is they aren't making mine because they've run out of manual transmissions. MINE IS AN AUTOMATIC. A breakdown in communications no doubt.
More news due later this week.

I have seen aftermarket heated seats for 180 for both sides.

A nearby upholstery shop may add leather and heaters to my ordered V6 with charcoal cloth. The owner told me it's about $1200 for good quality leather all around (better than OEM) and maybe $225 each for the 2 front heaters. I've read elsewhere that heaters can be troublesome and sometimes don't last more than a couple or 3 years but they sure are nice here in our cold winters!

Another possibility is adding OEM charcoal leather to my still unscheduled order (IUP is on backorder) and having the local shop install blue perforated leather inserts later for about $500. He can add embroidered accents and floormats too! I just think that would look soooooooo sharp in the Windveil Blue coupe. I don't really care for the vinyl like hides that are used on existing Mustangs and would prefer to have better quality leather but it appears it's about $600 more expensive for the aftermarket job.

Guess I know what to ask Santa for this year!

That makes no sense. You say they ran out of manual transmissions so you can't get the automatic your ordered????? Kinda like your seats, are you sure you are even getting a mustang?

I think there was a note of sarcasm in TBird Ted's posting.

But I hope it wasn't 'tongue in cheek'!

I only care that each passenger has two cheeks. There are laws concerning inter-species activities; on the east coast - - at least.
