Leather or cloth interior?

I am debating wether to get leather or cloth interior in my new stang.

I live in Arizona so on days when it gets 110 out I don't know if I would like leather.

I know in the leather interiors they have power seats. Do the power seats also come with the cloth interior?

Thanks.

In the 05, only the drivers seats were powered. I have cloth and my drivers seat is powered.

The thgouth procees I have is, that if your are going to buy a nice car, you might as well get all the option available...especially when that only costs around 3K extra...but, if you see getting cloth interior as a way to save money, then go with the cloth....but I have always kept in mind, that leather interiors never feel as nice as they do in showrooms...they never feel the same out in non-roomtemp weather...

My thought process was... get exactly the car you want. We wanted the cloth to avoid blistered butts and we dislike the people running around with bass so loud it shakes everyone elses car, so those are the options we left out.
I would not recommend getting cloth seats over leather just to save money. IMO if you can not afford the leather seats option, you can't afford the car.

Both will wear well if you take care of them. Leather looks nice, but has its drawbacks in really hot or really cold weather. I live in central AR where the summers are hot and humid, and I got cloth because of the comfort factor. Ultimately the bottom line is to get what you think you will like best.

I will say that after renting a Mustang with leather seats... the cloth seats I have in my car are much more comfortable.

The leather seemed very stiff and didn't give like the cloth and it just wasn't as comfortable on a long drive.

I love my cloth seats. Not hot in the summer and not cold in the winter.

Take a look at old leather seats. They look old. If you plan to keep the car for a long time the cloth will look better in 7 years. The car I sold to buy my Stang was 30 years olds and the cloth seats were still showroom.
I have had many Lincolns and Caddys with leather and personally I hate it in the summer.
One of the female car reviewers said she slid in the leather seat around the sharp corners because she was so small, but not in the cloth. Better rear traction.

You really need to sit in both of the seats and decide for yourself. The leather is firmer, much hotter, and probably won't last as long. It is also leather only on the seating surfaces, and the rear seat contains no leather. When I order my 07, it will not have the leather seats.

I'll admit that leather looks better.

Keep in mind leather seats have VERY little leather

I didn't know this until about 2 weeks ago but only the part in the center of the front seats with the holes in it is leather, the rest is vinyl!

Tickle

The only new mustang i have driven was a rental vert with leather and i found the seats kinda too firm, and was thinking that a long drive might be annoying with them...

Well I am looking at used 05's, not new 07 stangs.

If I have a choice between cloth or leather I would most likely choose cloth due to the heat factor and it being more durable.

But I haven't had much luck with finding a used 05 with the options I want so if I find one with eveything I want but it has leather it won't bother me too much.

If you take care of the leather it'll last a long while. Making generic comments about the durability of leather is a bit spurious. I've seen some really crappy looking cloth in some 3-4 year old cars.

If heat comfort is a concern then yeah cloth CAN be better. I find my leather seats to be incredibly comfortable and I'm really glad I bought them, even on 30^ days like today. I'll definitely be getting seat warmers for the winter though, heh.

Ditto, if your leather is cracking then you only have yourself to blame. You must clean it and protect it. And NEVER NEVER NEVER use armor all. Nothing will dry your leather out faster than that.

I agree with the others that cloth is more comfortable and not as hot to sit on in the summer. But man, the leather looks so gooooood!! Plus it's easy to keep clean. In my case the leather won out, and 25k miles later I am not sorry. I love it.

I disagree about taking care of the leather. I had leather in my '03 GT and even though I took VERY good care of it, within one year it looked terible. But that's because I hate the way leather seats look when they wrinkle. It's not hard to keep leather from cracking, but the ugly wrinkles are a different story.

I went with cloth because of that and because it holds you in the seat better than leather. My cloth seats look exactly like they did the day I drove it off the truck.
The temp of the seats was an afterthought in my case. The '03 was the last car I'll ever have with leather if I can help it. I'd even take vinyl or pleather over leather. JMO.
