Ok this is silly but man, I do not know how I've gone 33 years without experiancing this.

The sun finally broke out today so did a bit of driving around. Dropped a co-worker off at work and he and a couple other guys were telling me to light em up. The parking lot was drying out but still damp enough I figgured it wouldn't be too hard on the car to give them a little show. I only planned on doing a short little spin but it felt so good I just kept on it. Hit 3rd before I let off. Left about 30-40 feet of nice dark rails. Just after I had turned around and pulled back up next to the guys to ramble about how cool the Gt is, my boss walks out the front door! She never even glanced at us, so hopefully I won't hear anything of it. Man that was cool. I never owned a car that could do that, never owned anything bigger than my slant 6 in my 68 Dart. I'm addicted. I had a stupid grin on my face all the way home just thinking about it. Heck I'm still grinning.

I know this is all old hat for most of you but I just had to share my excitment.

God I hope I can keep from getting any tickets in this car.

Or that you can keep the rear tires on the car!

I remember when I was but a wee lad at the age of 16 going through a set of rear tires rather quickly on my 66' Fastback...twice!

Once I spent the money on the Bridgestone Radials..... that came to an abrupt end!

I found out the hard way burning off the tires on my 97GT within 2 months to find out the replacements cost me almost $400.00 CA each. The tires I am looking at getting now are going to run me close to $500.00 each for the back and $425.00 each for the front. Sure, maybe a burnout or 2 but I must learn to not fall into the temptation of peer pressure.

I know what you mean. I have never had a car that could catch a wheel in second or third gear. But I took my bro-in-law out to play. I was surprised when I caught a wheel in 1st, 2nd, AND 3rd. I never was able to do that. Especially that easy.

Adrenalin,

I didn't know that there WERE environmentally safe burn outs.... I'm looking forward to doing my part for the environment as soon as my GT gets here....
