The optional rims do not belong on a mustang!!! A taurus yes; An F150 yes, A buick yes, not a mustang :nono: I can't understand why all I see at dealerships are those nasty rims on all the GTs, please. They are not retro or even complement the car whatsoever in any shape or form. For instance, look at the 04 Mach 1 rims. They are retro with a modern twist, very nice. Or look at the 04 Cobra rims, equally nice. But those optionals rims are terrible. BRING ON THE 18 inch fanblades....Now those are optionals. WHAT WAS FORD SMOKING

The bullitts are more retro than the optional wheels. I wasn't too impressed with the optional wheels, like they didn't belong on the car...

I was searching on e-bay under (2005 Mustang) and there are numerous sets of new bullitts. Silver or Black for 329.00 plus shipping, this seems like a really good price, but shipping is 120.00 so I guess that almost offsets the price. There are also chrome bullitts also but the price is slightly more.

I think in 06 the bulliets become standard and an 18" rim becomes the upgrade.

No, you did good. The bullitts can be seen on many of the older body style mustangs. They are more common and out there already. The '05 is a unique and new car, and the concept rims fit nicely with it.

i disagree....the upgraded rims take the classic 5 spoke design with a twist. I guess I think the opposite....if you have a completely resdesigned car why would you put old rims on it? yea they look nice but I don't think they compliment the car enough

The upgraded wheels in pictures and from a distance look bland. But up close they look very nice and are easy to clean. I still like the bullitts better but the upgraded wheels do look nice on the new body style. They give the apperance of making the wheels look bigger. Now if I could only get my hands on a pair of 18" fanblades! They would look great on my stang

I respect your opinion, being diplomatic, however i completely disagree. I vehemently believe that those so-called optionals should have gone on the escorts GTs when ford was making them Again, they do not complement this awesome machine in anyway. They belong on a taurus, buick skylark F150. Not to impugn anyone's rims, but i am disappointed in ford's decision to put those rims on the stangs.

I like the 18" Fans as shown on the car I seen at the AutoShow. I am waiting for the Mach I to come out and it'll surely offer them. Maybe Standard? I wish we would be getting more leaks regarding the Mach I and Cobra. That production GT just doesn't cut it for me. Too many cost cutting ideas are implemented in it. :notnice: Heres hoping the Mach and/or Cobra look like the concept right down to its tail-lights.

Personally, I love the Bullits and went with them for my car. However, when I saw the optionals at the Atlanta Racing event, they were better in person then I was expecting. Still like my Bullits more though and I'm glad the Bullits were standard and not optional.

I originally ordered the upgrades but just wasn't comfortable with my decision. I called the dealer one week before build date and changed my order to bullits. I am so glad I did. I have not taken delivery yet but after viewing all of the photo's on this site, I believe I did the right thing.

I know a couple people have said that the upgraded wheels don't look like anything offered on a Mustang before, did anyone else happen to catch the similarity of the "Concept/Upgrade 17" Wheels" to the Hubcaps on this 65 Stang? I was looking at this pic with my Mom and she actually said something about it at the same time I noticed It. Kinda Cool, But I still want Bullitts.

I personaly want Bullitts, because they seem to go better with the Retro/Modern Style of the 05 Mustang, but will eventually go with 17" Hallibrand Wheels, Like these, that look like the 16" V6 Wheels.

Just for clarification, the current 17" optional wheels on the Mustang are NOT the concept wheels. The wheels shown on the concept car were similar, but bigger.

I believe that when most people talk about concept wheels, they mean the 18" "fanblade" wheels shown on the car pictured below, although technically they are not the "concept" wheels, because we only saw them on a pre-production car at the last NAIAS (and a few other pre-pros floating around), NOT on the original concept vehicle shown the year before.

I have the newer concept wheels on my '05. The bullits have been over done in my opinion. WHy would I want the same wheels as the '03 and '04, when I can have something NEW. New body style deserves new wheel style.

NO When someone is refering to the "Concept Wheels" they mean the Wheels Seen on The Concept Mustangs! Like These.

I prefer the upgraded wheels over the bullitts, thats why I ordered them on my '05. I had the bullitts for three years on my '02 GT, and preferred not to have the same wheel on my '05. I agree with Ford's decision to introduce for '05 a modern looking wheel, in addition to the "retro" wheel that many obviously prefer. I think of the '05 as a modern looking vehicle, and IMO the optional wheels compliment it's lines very nicely. This doesn't indicate that I dislike the looks of the bullits. But, most every GT from '01-'04 has bullitt wheels, and IMO they've become quite common place. But to each their own. This is why the upgraded wheels are an option.

Now, the 18" fanblades are by far my favorite wheels for the '05, and I will definitely attempt to swap the current optional wheels for the 18s, along with some wider rubber, if and when they become available.

The bullets are cool and "retro." I liked the upgraded rims better, though and went with them. It's all just opinion and taste, but I think they definitely look good on the Mustang.

I got the upgrades and like the looks. I think they would look better if bigger but I'd worry about the performance tradeoffs . . .

The 18" Fan Blades from the NAIAS car was want we liked the best and were very disappointed they were not available. An 18" Mach 1 wheel in chrome would be kool. Seeing the wheels from the factory in the brochure pictures I wanted the restyled bullits. After seeing the Bright Machined in person, we decided that the car looked fresher with them. I like them now. I also like the old style bullit wheel better because of the Mustang badge in the center cap. 18 X 9's will rule in a Cragar S/S for a retro appearance.

IMO, the size is more important than the design in this case. With those wheel wells, it just screams for 18" or 19". So I favor whichever look bigger. Now it's the upgrade rims, but show me 18" bullitts and I probably like those more.

It's just way too much rubber and air between the hub and body.
