Are the keyless entry pads stock on the drivers side door of the 05 GT? If so, where is mine? I upgraded the security package....I was just wondering because the pictures on the Ford website have them and I don't. Thanks for any help!

No they are not. Yours is in the parts department just like mine was. Do not know the cost as salesman gave it to me.

They also give you a couple of key fobs that will lock and unlock your doors and open the trunk.

If you're talking about the numeric keypad, its placed above the door handle on the driver's side. Further, it's not a part of the "standard" Mustang options, you have to order it special through Ford Accessories. All the security package does is give you an active anti-theft system on top of the passive anti-theft system.

The keypads are stick-ons, by the way, and basically just emulate the keychain fob.

You don't need it on a Mustang. Just listen for ding ding ding and then be sure to put the key in your pocket. If your deaf, just carry an extra key in your pocket.

Thank god it isn't. That would look horrible on a mustang.

The biggest benefit to the keyless entry systems is that you can hit the last 2 numbers (7 and 9) simultaneously and it locks all your doors. I use that all the time on my Explorer and the wife's Sable. On hers, mainly because I carry the key but not the remote.

I use mine all the time on my Explorer too. I sometimes will throw my keys under the seat when I'm doing something and don't want to carry around my keys.
The one you buy from the parts dept is different than the ones on Explorers. I think the parts dept. one looks chincy.
oh, and yes, the 2 button lock is nice as well. I don't know how many times I walk out to my truck to get something without my keys.
