Hey guys. I thought that maybe you could shed some light on my order information.

I read here that the VIN number is more or less the order in which they are manufactured, and all the other info. So, what does all this mean?

-My last 4 numbers of VIN are 4287
-I haven't called my salesguy for a build date
-Priority 10
-Order type 2 (this is where I am stumped. Other people are either 1 or A or something like that).
-Is there a way that I can tell APPROXIMATELY when it is goig to be built?
-I do know that mine is one of the two first allocated unints.

Thanks for your insight.

No problem. Since you have a Vin # your car probably has a build date. I would just call your dealer and ask him what it is. They should be able to tell you the week it is scheduled. I am sorry but I am not up on the vin sequence so I can't help from just this info.
Congrats on your new car. It's coming....

What do I ask exactly? Where do I ask him to look exactly?

Dealers get status sheets daily. On them , the scheduled build (week 0f) and various other tidbits will be displayed under your vin #. I believe(BEK/Kevin) correct me, that order type 1 is retail, order type 2 is dealer stock.

Wow, it shouldn't be dealer stock. Does it change when it will be built? Because I know for sure mine is Priority 10 and not 99 (like lot cars).

Again, don't read too much into what i said about the order type. Just check with your sales person/manager. If you have a Vin, you almost certainly have a build date.

Update- I just called the salesmanager and nothing new. There is no status such as built/bucked or even a build date at all. What is happening?

Are you sure that is your VIN and not the order number. If it has a VIN, the build date should've been issued. If that is your order number, that is just the dealers internal tracking number.

Something does seem odd. If you have had your vin for more than a week, you should have a build date. I would go to the dealer and ask to see the order status report. It should have a line with your name, vin, and schedule(to be built) date. If it says that the date is TBD, that is OK, just a minor delay. I would want to see this in person, on the paper.

Again,
Kevin and Bek...........

What are the odds the Mustang will be part of Fords inevitable spring sale? The more $$ I can get towards her the better.

Unfortunately

I dont justify paying $40 more a month in insurance just for some cool sound and a swift motor.
