What's a good product to use for kepping the engine & compartment really clean.I don't show the car but I like show quality.What do you use to keep the black stuff black and everything else clean???

I hate dressings on rubber so I use a rag and quick detailer, keeps it looking 'naturally' new and can be used on anything. The design of these cars keeps the engine bay cleaner then anything I have ever seen before. The old generation got filthy in a week.

 

I like to take my shop vac and empty its contents all over the top of my engine.

 

Find Griot's Garage on the web. I used to use their engine bay cleaner and protectant on my '89 GT. It really helped. I will probably use it on my '07, as well.

 

Quick detailer and a damp rag works very well in the engine bay

 

I simply give the engine bay a good wiping down weekly and use detail spray and a MF on everything.

For years, I've taken many vehicles down to the local do-it-yourself spray booth, and blasted everything I could get at with the high-pressure rinse. Drove the vehicle home, lifted the hood and all I needed was a towel to dry off what little water remained. I do this every spring on anything that has seen winter. Results are like straight out of the factory, and I've never had any issues because of it.

 

I do the same with all of my vehicles. I usually put plastic bags over the battery, alternator, and intake filter (if the car has an aftermarket unit). Then I sprits it down and spray some Black Magic tire foam on it. I usually let the tire foam sit for a few minutes before wiping it down with a damp chamois or cloth. Looks great and the tire foam makes the hoses look nice.

 

Simple green is a good cleaner for engine bays.

 

I just use a super soft scrub brush and car soap to knock off the road dust. Then rinse it all down with a garden hose w/o sprayer. Quick detailer does a bang up job as well to keep the black bits looking new.

Be careful using Simple Green on aluminum as it will corrode if not fully removed.
