just stumbled on these concept pics...

just saw these in the 2005 clay models/timeline section- best looking version Ive seen, love the rearend, if the 2010 had this rearend I woulda been in line for one instead of a extra 09

just thought I'd throw these up in case no one else ever saw them...tooo bad the hood in the last pic didnt make it into production...to me alll these pics just SCREAM Mustang- even if just a clay mockup

Well, to me that rear doesn't look significantly different than that of the '05-'09 Mustangs but I really like the front end of the mock-up in the 2nd pic.

Whilst it's similar to the '05-'09, I like the way the edges of the rear 1/4 panels and trunk lid/spoiler extend past the rear panel. With it leaning forward like that it gives it an almost concave look as opposed to the flat look that reached production

So clean. Love the simplicity of the design.

my thoughts exactly- the integrated 'almost spoiler' (it dont stick up) really takes away from the kinda bulged look when you look at them side-by-side...I still dunno why Ford left our hoods so bland- the one pictured looks sweet, wouldnt have cost anymore to stamp out...'too retro' maybe? I sure dont think so

Looks like it's parked on some type of turn table.

If you like the hood in the third picture, just go to MRT, they did it a little over a year ago

I plan to add it to my car, hopefully soon, and had a photo shop version done:

I think the concept has a lot 'flatter' shape towards the front- probably a necessity for engine clearance to bulge it up/round it off more than the concept...still like the look of that concept hood- wether 'impossible' or not to clear a engine

Nice!

The front end is really sweet. Kind of looks like the '10 in a way.

Might the '12 look similar??!!! Doubt it though.
