Well I just started to take the plunge. I placed an order for a premium 05 Sonic blue 5spd GT coupe w/ the premium wheels and IUP. The dealer in this area (central florida) is charging me 27,100, does this sound reasonable? It was compareable to the other ford dealer in the area but it doesn't sound like they are budgeing at all on the sticker price.

They said I should expect it in 4-6 weeks or so, I wonder if it'll actually be that short. From the sound of some of the stories on this board probably not.

Here is a pic of what it should look like, i'll be sure to post actual pics when the car arrives.

Sounds reasonable. Add in taxes and all the other fun stuff and you should be below 29k which, if you lived in Jersey, is reasonable.

That sounds like a great price! Don't hold your breath on the 4-6 weeks though.

Great choice on Color, but, 4-6 weeks seems nearly impossible (unless they had an order for dealer stock that they could change). 4 weeks plus 6 weeks seems more like the norm. Good Luck!

Congrats on the order. I hope see gets here soon, but be patient. Most everyone here has gone through or are going through that wait. It can be very hard at times but when you get those keys that wait will be a distant memory. Good luck to you. Here is a order

Greg I really feel for you guys that are waiting so long for their cars, and I mean that sincerely. My seven week wait about killed me, I cannot imagine longer than that. Good luck to you.

Snikt, I know the morality is questionable but consider placing another order with a different dealership. Whichever comes first, complete the order and get your deposit back at the slower dealership.

Or...

Get a list of all the Ford dealerships within 100 miles of you, and check their inventories online. If they have one you like, send them an email and buy it. However, like the others have said, 4-6 wks is an unlikely. I've been waiting since 9/27 so take that for whatever it's worth.

Have you guys that have been waiting a long time tried to complain to the dealership? Can't they do anything about it?

Hey Greg thanks man. The one thing that The Mustang Source offers, other than great Mustang info, is moral support. I try to send a little message from time to time to those that are waiting on their cars. The reason is that others did it for me when I was sitting behind this screen waiting, it helps........some. It is like The Mustang Source Support Forum

Aaron, that's about what I paid for mine.

My wait was just under 6 weeks so there is hope. Good Luck!

I looked for the dealer with the least 04's on the lot.

I could have probably looked around at all of the dealers and just baught something, but I haven't seen any sonic blue GTs yet, and it's kinda nice to get a car you know nobody has test driven or messed up, etc.. The dealership down the street just got like 10 GTs and a couple GT verts in, but almost every color except sonic blue.

Greg,

Relax dude! It will come to you! LOL... Back in 96, I waited 8 months for my F150, at least Ford doesn't have labor problems this time around.

I agree, I didn't want a car off the lot either, exposed to the elements and all.

What I was getting at was it seemed that you have a shorter wait if the dealer has sold all of their older models. If a dealer has a lot of 04's lying around they don't get as many 05's.
