Definitely take Nosferatu's explanation with you to court. Really sorry to hear about such an unfortunate event, at least you are OK.

 

Glad you wern't injured. I feel like I have a target taped to my car driving in So Cal. No one leaves any room for anything to change/go wrong. Good luck getting it fixed soon.

I feel for you.. I know here in SoCal the lanes seem to be getting smaller while driving these cars.. :bang: What kind of car was Fat Bass driving..So I know who to be on the look out for...

 

5 freeway....south, coming in to San Clemente...just after the Hwy 1 (PCH) exit at Beach Cities.

Man, Rich... really sorry to hear about this. I'm just glad you didn't actually spin out. It could have been a lot worse. At least you don't have a shortage of good painters down there in SoCal. Your baby will be back to normal before you know it.

 

This is like dejaview, I had this wxact same thing happen to me when driving my '94 Taurus, the guy slammed on his brakes hitting the back of my car just above the rear tire! (left side)...

He claimed it was my fault, as "I did a lane change". Well I didn't. Looking at my damage, it was clear. It was a direct hit (pushed in the metal about 6", in a localized location. If I had changed lanes into him it would've been a much larger scratch along the side of my car.

Anyway this guy was from India and all he wanted to was leave the scene and "we fix both our cars".

I was deemed 100% *not at fault*.

So I wish you the best of luck.

I'm happy about you not being hurt. I know you must be really upset and the only thing you're thinking is the damage...but seriously, it could have been so much worse!
I would be devastated if my "Baby" was hit. I know how much you love her (how could you not!), but remember that even with a few flaws she's still your "Baby". She'll be all perfect again soon, until then...hang in there Richard!!!

Hey, I know where you're talking about... The freeway takes a left curve and gets all bouncy and stuff there. Also people are distracted right there because everyone gets their first glimpse of ocean to the right. Sorry to hear it, man.

 

Hang in there man, some of us have been in that same boat..... It'll be ok either way.

 

I have to be honest here and say that someone who does something like this and lies should be shot with a BB gun in his genitals until he ultimately dies.

AND the person he is wronging should have the opportunity to shoot him if he so chooses.

Or you should at least be able to run over any part of his body with your car that he damaged.

Accidents happen (usually because people are f***n morons) but they happen but man when someone doesn't own up to it... that makes me so mad.

Liars and theives... just have no stomach for them.

I REALLY hope, as others have said, the cop sides with you and I REALLY hope the person that did this... I hope carma comes back and bites him in the hiney in the worst way. I mean the WORST way.
