June 04 Motor Trend

While not huge, nor really new news at all...June04 Motor Trend.
1) Vert.
Spied! 2005 Mustang Convertible
Ford Introduced the production version of the new Mustang coupe at the Detroit auto show in January. The convertible will break cover at the same venue this coming New Year. In spite of the camo, we can see the well-proportioned top, heated-glass rear window, a high trunk, and beefy dual exhausts in the unauthorized spy photo. The dual-five-spoke wheels resemble those on the original Mustang Concept cars of 03. The 2005 Mustang convertible will be sold both in V-6 and GT V-8 Models.
2) One-Year Test Verdict: Nissan 350Z
Under alternatives...
Ford Mustang (2005)
Base: 4.0L/202hp V-6
Opt: 4.6L/300hp V-8
0-60 mph, sec: 5.2 (300-hp MT est)
Fuel Economy: 21/30 (V-6)
Price Range: 19,000 - 35,000
Whats Hot:
Cool retro design and all-new chassis
Whats Not:
Nostaligic styling might have been stretched too far
Whats New:
Five-speed automatic joins the 5-speed manual

In an unexpected switch, I'll take mine in Torch Red with a white top.

It was a '67, and I had to come to the realization that as a newlywed who is preparing to start a family (still a couple of years off), I can't afford a garage queen and a daily driver.

Mustangs verts in general don't look great with the tops up anyway.
However this one apparently has 4 bows to the 3 now...
Make it a smoother look... and probably a nicer material.
Now..with the top down...probably looks like a champ
I'll stick with the coupe...
but guys with verts...gonna love it
