Booyah!

Repair costs to date (IE non-maintenance items):

Replace cluster with GT500 cluster, faulty gauges - $350

That's it. I even still have the factory front brakes and rotors (about 50% pad life left). Just drove home at about 80Mph on the freeway, smooth as glass. How has this not gone down as the best car in history?

I have 164,500 on mine right now, very little other than regular maintenance on it. I did have to replace the water pump this weekend, and the battery this past summer. And I have done the brakes a couple of times, but with several track visits that isn't unexpected.

Outstanding!! I've had my 05' for about a month now. It only has 52000 on it. You read all the TSB's and various other problems with these cars because it seems that most people only bother to post the bad and not the good. This is a really cool post and it gives me even more confidence in my car.

That's impressive. I've only got 27,000 but I'm looking forward to an issue-free future. The ride is still good with all the aftermarket suspension items? No rattles or squeaks even?

Nah, I've got one rattle in the dash somewhere and a squeak that for the life of me I can't find but it sure sounds like a spring in the seat. Starts at 58 MPH but only on certain days. That's interior only. As for things related to the suspension, nothing. Once I bought the Steeda strut mounts, all was well. Never had an issue with the shocks or struts or the panhard bar. No noises suspension wise at all. Just took a road trip to Vegas about 4K miles ago and my friend even commented how incredibly smooth my car drove down the road "at speed" (we'll leave that definition to the imagination).

I hear what was said before, I've heard the horror stories about stuff breaking, but this car has been almost entirely trouble free, even with the aftermarket stuff. As for 164K miles, that is amazingly impressive. I will however keep my wife from seeing your response as I'm trying to justify a GT500, and you sir, are most certainly NOT helping with the "my car is too old" angle.

That is wonderful news and I wish you many more miles/years with your car. Perhaps you can let Ford know that they finally hit the ball out of the park!

Well I got 95k on my 2000 gt and only a clutch to replace. These cars are durable and seem to love to get beat on. If I ain't revving at 4000 rpms she don't seem to be happy

I am at 82k miles. She is a daily driver, so she does not look factory fresh. She's had all the usual maintenance. The carpet has worn poorly, even with the mats always in place. I've been through four or five batteries. I need to have the throttle body cleaned. She has chips in the paint, and the paint could definitely benefit from a serious claying, polishing and waxing. The red leather has endured only so-so on the drivers seat.

But I look forward to driving her every day. Of all the Mustangs I have had, she was the first with "everything" - convertible, manual gearbox and V8. She is easily the most fun car I have had. When I put my foot down, she still goes like stink.

Look showroom new? Not anymore. But what fun!

Congrats. I've got 110k on my 07. Still runs real strong, nothing other than normal maintenance. I almost always run well over 100k on my vehicles and this is the best runner I've ever had. If I have my way, I'll keep this one forever.....

I have 195000+- a few hundred, she has been my daily driver since January 15, 2005. I bought her in Texas, moved to California and shipped her from there to Saipan( for those of you who are going Where..that is150 miles north of Guam).

Wow, like someone else said earlier, glad to know these cars hold up well. Mine has 55,000 miles and has been my DD since May 2008. No problems here either except for the speaker on the driver's door that's driving me insane. Need to see where it is.

She's been stock this whole time. But this week I finally bought an axle back, which will lead to a x-pipe, intake, etc etc etc etc lol
