I've discovered the key ingredient!

Many of you have been aware of my recent angst over finding just the right wheels for my windveil GT. After seeing just about every aftermarket wheel, I finally decided that nothing looks better on my GT than bullits-Silver Ford Racing Bullits with Pony center caps that is.
Mounted a set on the stang early in the week and I am very happy with my choice. I've also noticed that the "head turning" rate of folks staring at my GT as I drive by has gone up 3-4x! Thanks AZ Litigator!
Could the Bullits be the primary "magic" ingredient that makes people drool over the GT?
Here's a pic of how it looks now.

thanks guys!
Unless I'm missing something, all the bullits I've seen delivered with GT's are anthracite and not bright silver. They also come with a Ford center cap and not the Pony center cap.
I tried anthracite bullits on my GT and they just didn't add the "pop" that these metallic silver bullits add.

I personally think that Bullitts were just made for this car. Yea there are lots of other choices out there but the Bullitts just seem a perfect match for the styling cues of the side of the 05/06.
In terms of retro effect the Silver definitely gives more pop to some colors in the same way Cragars did in their day. I think it may also be the same mindset behind why some people just love the stock 16-inch wheels on the V-6 as they're reminiscent of Halibrand Cobra's.
On your car I think the Silver Bullitts look awesome!!

I think there is a reason that you see bullitts on mustangs all of the time. It's because they look really good. I personally think that the only wheels that look better than bullitts are Magnum 500s. The 18" fanblades also look very nice, but I still like the bullitts a bit better. I haven't seen any other rim on the new mustang that I like as much as those three.

Thanks Martin.
I agree with you that this car was just made for Bullit style wheels. I "chop shopped" just about every aftermarket wheel out there, even tried some on, and something just didn't look right.
And nothing against the Upgrade wheels, but they just look a little out of place on GT's IMO.
I am surprised Ford doesn't offer the silver bullits as a standard option. The metallic silver looks great specially in the sun.

I think it would be nice if Ford did offer the Silver and Black bullitts as factory options. On some colors these wheels just simply look better. I can definitely see putting Silver bullitts on Silver or Blue Mustangs (amongst others). Black and White Mustang owners have a great option in the Black Bullits. For my car, there simply was no other choice than Athracite Bullits.
There are lots of choices out there and everybody has their opinion as to what works better for them. For me I think a classic car with classic lines deserves classic wheels!

Looks GREAT! I agree that the bullits were made for this car, no doubt about it. The bullits were one of the main reasons I wanted the pony package, and after seeing them I will never change them.

Yup bullitts it is. That's what I ordered. I like the fanblades, etc. But LOVE the bullitts.
I am not a big modder at all, but Eibach springs are starting to look like a tempting and reasonably-priced mod. . .

I love my bullits... but I am seriously jonesing for some 18" bullits... I love the way the black with silver edge ones look... but the polished silver bullits seem made for my car... I am hesitant to change right now though, I still have lots of rubber on my stockers... maybe I need to go out and burn some off???
Chrome looks nice, but I am all about understating everything on my car... I don't need a wheel that takes the eye away from the nice, simple lines of my car.
