So I was called on 8/28 and told I had a build of 8/26 and full VIN#. So I wait two weeks and call to ask if there is any ETA? The call back I recieve says that I was bumped to week of 9/27, what is going on here? Who else has had anything close to this happen and why? What did they do give my car to some VIP? Kind of t's me off as I have no use for it during the winter. Right now I feel like telling them I'll pass till next summer or for something better to come out.

I'm just venting because here I thought we'd get to enjoy the car before the salt hits the roads here and was starting to clean out space in the garage. No need for the first 6 mons of warranty to just sit in garage. :bang: If I knew for sure it was given to someoneelse :nono: They (Ford) could go to heck. Better have been for some good reason.

My guess is that somewhere along the way, someone misunderstood. The official launch is the 27th, and I believe thats the first ship date as well ... so thats where that number comes from. Don't worry. Either way, if your car was built 8/26 or 9/26, you won't see it til Mid-October at the earliest.

I don't think there's any way you will ever find out.....my original build date was week of 8/23. It was assigned way back on 7/14. It was bumped to week of 9/06, and then produced 9/08. It's frustrating but you are getting close. B)

I got a hold of my dealer last night. He had terrible news. My order does not have a build date yet. In fact he was alotted five Mustangs for his first shipment. He was told he will not see those until Mid-Nov. So who knows when I will get mine. He said I can pick on of his if I did not want to wait for my order.

I wanted to kick him in the ding ding, but it was over the phone.

It seems to me that there was a misunderstanding to begin with. I know people have been saying that VINs have nothing to do with the order that they are built but through other peoples VINs I was able to estimate my build date before my dealer confirmed it. My VIN is 5101 and my build date is 9/27, so yours should be built the same week mine is.

It is very easy to misread some of Ford's ordering reports. They have lots of dates and numbers. Keeping track of all the orders and dates and supplying the correct info to customers is not easy. Any confusion can easily be an honest mistake.
