Hello everyone,

Currently I have an order for an 05 Sonic blue GT with the IUP option that is still C/U, my dealer called Sat 3/19/05 and said that they have a silver GT coming in this week ! the only problem is that it does not have the IUP option, and of course the color is different, Silver would have been my second choice, so I would be happy with the silver as well as the Sonic blue, the silver car has the 195.00 interior option wich gives you the leather wrapped steering wheel, and the shifter, but I am not sure idf you get the six guage instrument cluster as you do with the IUP package ? does anyone know if the six guage cluster is standard with GT trim ?

Any and all responses would be greatly appreciated, also feel free to comment on the color change as well.

Thanks again.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the IUP also adds the message center as well which is pretty cool.

Talking

Hi,

For what its worth I bought a V6 with an aftermarket interior dash with addtional accents and It really looks much nicer then the ford factory IUP. After seeing the aftermarket that I got I think the factory IUP looks kinda cheap. It just looks more like real glossy brushed metal instead of the flat silver look. I don't know who made it because it was dealer installed when I bought it. I will soon post some pics when I can get some decent lighting. So you may want to consider the Silver and look into some aftermarket stuff and make it more original. JMO.....

Lots o' messages:

low fuel
fuel economy
door ajar
lets you screw with the my color values
etc...

Without it all you get is a digital odometer I think? I dunno.

Wait.

Ya...IUP-Lite is just leather wrapped steering wheel and aluminum finish on the wheel and shift. You lose the aluminum trim on the dash, door sills & door pulls, 6 guage cluster, MyColor and Message Center.

Read pages 50-58 in the owners manual (available on this site) about the Message Center.

get the car now if you can. i tried holding out for the car i wanted but am a lot happier with the car i bought off the lot without IUP. I have it now and can enjoy driving it. I think that outweighs waiting for a car with IUP that may or may not come by the end of the summer. Just my opinion. I would say go for it! You won't be sorry

Looks good to me............

Take a look.............> IUP

The message center and the extra gauges are well worth it. All the usual stuff plus

Average MPG

Average MPH

Gallons Used

Miles to empty

Total system check

My Color...... nice but not necessary

Trip Stop Watch

Can't remember what I'm forgetting

Haste makes waste!
Stick it out, get what you want, yes the car is a blast to drive and all but think how much happier you will be when you are driving around looking at all the cool stuff inside, while everybody else checks out your cool stuff outside

The message center sounds very cool, I want to wait, I still have a couple of days to make up my mind, maybe they will schedule my car this week ???, in any case my order was placed using Z plan originally, this dealer will give me the plan pricing on this silver GT when it hits the lot this week, just no IUP,, Its killing me....arghhh..

Personally, I'd wait and get the IUP.

In fact...I am waiting.
