yeah...the metal flake distorts the light and makes it pretty much impossible to get a direct reflection...thus making it appear to not do the "mirror" thing that everyone likes.

You mean your 02 mustang was satin silver... if you had an 03 in silver..it wasn't satin...
And I don't know what your talking about, I did zaino my 02 satin, and it popped... it was almost like a mirror, looked awsome...
But certain colours are more noticeable... especially from a distance.

The waxing also is intended to umm protect the paint so you may want to do it once in a while just for that purpose. :P

I like the grabber orange, but not enough to actually own it. Now Grabber Blue, then we'd be talking...

I saw a grabber orange vert in person yesterday in Royal Oak. It had a hood scoop and fanblades I believe (I was driving in the opposite direction)

as for "pop" you definately notice it, it's unlike any color currently on the road for the average car, a metallic would only commonize it, make it look too much like GM's pumpkin orange metallic that they've thrown at every model they have

the color is bright and vivid, more like something you'd see on a gallardo

not exactly to my taste, but very impressive at first glance

Sorry, Ol' Buddy. I've done my homework. The Fleet website is wrong! Oh, how I wish it weren't, but it is. They also had 'clearcoat metallic' in the 2007 order guide. Again, wrong. Stan

Switching gears, kc, how negotiable is the FDAF/LMDA Assessment fee? Reason I ask, I'm paying invoice 'plus' and I saw this on my copy of the dealer invoice. It was something like $312. Ouch!

Took a trip down to see the family in Maryland. Stopped in at Ron Bortnick Ford and they had the 2007 color chart that was posted here. Although it has its own paint code (U3), it is very close to school bus yellow. And as we all know by now, not metallic.

In 9 days I'll see it in person anyway. Should be a hoot!

I, for one, am glad they didn't make it metalic. I really liked the 70 Boss in that color. Almost makes me wish I had waited 6 months . . .

That's no reason not to wax! My car is metallic silver and I can tell a BIG difference after it's waxed.

Now that I've seen an 8"x11" full size sheet of Grabber, I could not agree with you more. It really hits the shade of the '70 Boss... ON THE NOSE! At least the 1970's I've seen. (I did see a Mach 1 last summer at a car show here in Joisey, too.)

I'm really happy with the color.

T minus 8 and counting...

I'd be happy to see someone do a Boss tribute in Orange and see how it turns out compared to my yellow one.

I was all hell bent on doing something very similar to what you're saying. I've decided to sit on the car for a year and do nothing. Mainly because I've already changed my mind 23 thousand times over the past 24 months on what I wanted to do to the exterior. I fear I'll pull the trigger and regret it. The lines on this car are so clean, I'm just not sure if I want to alter them with stripes. If I did, I'm leaning real hard to the '69 C-stripe and black hood, however.

You can do the C-stripe and remove it later if you don't like it. The hood is a different story.
