5 months & a day ago We ordered a Sonic Blue GT from the local dealer on X-plan. After the change over to 06 they told me they wern't going to honor my Feb. price guarantee & they had no allocation left to order me an 06. Saturday I went to an out of town dealer & bought one off of the lot for a little under MSRP. Picked it up last night. I'm starting to really like it.

Looks really cool man

Congrats!!

Who was the dealer... just in case we want to warn others. Because IMO that was really bad of them to do that.

Another 'choose your dealer wisely' story. My local Ford dealer has a salesperson I really like, and many of my co-workers have gone through her for good deals. On the Mustang, she couldn't do anything for me, since her boss is insisting they can make 3k per car over MSRP. I went out of town and got a great deal on a remaining 05 allocation from a dealer who was willing to work with me. He understood that his 05 allocation wasn't that big of a deal, since the 06's were going to be available within a few months. In an amusing twist, my local dealer is piling up Mustangs on the lot (Red GT-auto still sitting there after a few weeks and a 3k over MSRP tag on it). I hope the cost of maintaining inventory isn't making him too uncomfortable.

Personally, I like Mineral Grey better than the Sonic Blue, so I think you made the right call, Ernie. Congratulations!

The first dealer was Rock River Ford in Rockford Il. I thought they were just telling me "No allocation for 06s" because they wanted to sell mine for more money. I called Ford customer service & they told me the same thing. The other real bad thing they did to me was I left my trade in the day we made the deal.
The dealer I ended up buying from was Central Ford in South Beloit . They started out at $3000 over MSRP. I told them I was pretty sure those days were over when Ford anounced the deal with Carol Shelby. Anybody willing to pay the extra coin would wait for a Shelby & Ford was going to double the GT production in August. The wait would soon be over. I told them they probably should turn it real quick & earn more allocation. They had had it only 3 days. I ended up $500 under MSRP. Still a long way from my Feb. x-plan price.

Thanks for all of the "congratulations!" I'm glad everybody seems to like the stripes. I also put sequential turn signals on the back.
