Well, I thought long and Hard. But my heart was draing every day I drove her. Don't get wrong, she is/was a great car, my 05 Mustang. BUT, I fell in love with a Red Mach1. She just would not perform up to my standards. My problem was, I turned 60. Yep, thought I was dead. So for one last fling before burial, I bought the 05, 5-speed. Modded her out. It's pallett just screamed for it. but the performance was just never there. Yes, I even had it tuned. But I felt I was throwing money away. It just wouldn't come around for me, the way I remembered my prior Stangs. Sooo, I sold her. Took a bath, but came out smelling okay, because now I have a real proven muscle car. A Mach1. Red no less. And yes of course, the mods have started on this new baby too. So-far just dress-up, mostly MGW and UPR. but a shifter is enroute also. Got to start somewhere, and those are just short dollar items anyway. Besides, after the bath on the 05, I kinda got to cut down on expenses, for a while.

So, I'm just moving down the Boards here. Down to the SN95 group. I'll be checking in to see how your all doing, and will be looking you all up at East Coast and SouthEast Meets. Carlisle most definately, and Waterford Lakes in Florida next month.

I'll be a changing my avatar tomorrow when I can get some shots of the new baby. But I'll still be roaming the Stang Boards.

Good luck with your rides. Oh, and Mod the heck out of them too.

silly question, but what was the letdown for you? I love mine, but gotta admit the torque down low is pretty sad, although with the 5 speed its a moot point...I just cannot imagine a more fun car to drive(ulnless maybe they could double the off idle torque).

You won't be disappointed with the Mach. A friend of mine has a yellow Mach and it just screams. Other than having to use higher octane gas I love em!

Congrats.

What I don't understand is the performance comparison, most stock mach dyno sheets I have seen have been 250ish rwhp, on par to below what stock 05's are dynoing?

I really dig the Mach 1's, not trying to bash/flame.

Good luck and have fun with her!

And I know some Mach1s that'll smoke you hardcore.

Does it really matter? They are both great cars with potential.
Different strokes for different folks...

However, without a tune on the 05, you're really limited to the performance gains BIGtime...

BTW-Most stock Mach's are far above 250, so not sure where you got that number. Can head over to mach1registry for that.

There is a difference between Auto/Manual, but defintely not 250ish. Add about 20-23 to that, and it'll be spot on stock.

The 03 Mach 1's are just so beautiful! If I had a choice I would pick a Mach 1 over an 05. Good choice either way!

I prefer the body style of the 05 but it really doesn't matter what I think. At least you're still in the Stang family

I love them both, if only one I may own, I choose the O5 GT.

Good Luck! Enjoy.

Enjoy your Mach 1........ I prefer the '05 mainly because of the better interior comfort (headroom, legroom) since I'm 6'2" and about 230.

UMMM. 13.1 here with dr's, off road x, cai. With a better driver than me that 12.9 is not far off. Sorry but your sadly mistaken as to to how much power these cars really have. Have you ever driven one... And there is not one mach that has dynoed that low unless it was a mustang dyno. Btw with an excal II, off-road x, and cai you see the numbers in my sig on a mustang dyno.

Mach's are nice but if I were to give up my 05 for a SN95 it would defiantly be a Cobra.

I too am a little curious to find out why you the the mach is so much more powerful that the 05. I have had a chance to drive both quite a bit and have to say that the difference is marginal at best. I completely respect your choice, so don't get me wrong, I was just wondering. I would love to have either but I am definately a bigger fan of the 05.

The only part of this whole thing that has me worried is why the heck are you people giving him crap for switching. :notnice: Its not like he torched his 05, peed on the ashes, and went out and bought a 94 civic with a whale tail. He bought a freaking MACH!. Its american, still a mustang, and a sweet one at that. So lay off.

And as for the back and forth my car is faster than your car let it go. With money a pinto can be just as fast. For those of you with 05's enjoy them, I'm still saving for mine. And for the owner of the new mach have a good time with the new ride.

I almost bought a new 2004 Red with black stripes mach 1 when i got my car, because nobody had 05s on the lot.... but I am glad I waited. I love the Mach 1, but I hated the interior of the old stangs.
