First of all let me say that the IUP should be INCLUDED with the price of the Premium coupe and NOT an extra build add-on. The inability to get one now (its 2/4/05) and I tried to order but they can't supply it, seems based on 2 factors, 1 a law suit(that Fords lawyers can easily handle) and 2 A short supply of materials(which Ford should have forsaw before they committed to that particular supplier. The shortage is based on the fact that the demand for IUP has exceeded what Ford thought it would be. That takes me back to my original point that IUP should've been INCLUDED in the price of the premium coupe. I hate being jerked around so I'll just wait til the 06's come out.

When did you try to order and they said it was unavailable? It is available so don't let the dealer tell you it isn't. It might take awhile to get it due to the backlog but they are catching up.

I ordered mine today. IUP; they told me about the same thing. Ford was having a quality problem with the vender, and I could not order IUP 18g but I could order 18r. How stupid would that look? So order all black but then there no way to get the leather rap wheel. What ever problems there having they need to get it fixed! So I ordered the car with it and asked them to put a hold on the build until the 18g becomes available. It might take awhile but it will be worth the wait.

This thread was started 2 months ago. I'm pretty sure that mco05gt isn't still waiting for an answer after all this time.

Actually I've been waiting since I ordered on 11/15/04 for my V6 coupe with IUP. Ford told me on 2/21/05 that they are having problems filling orders with this options again. So now I'm going into month 4 waiting on my dream ride.

I'm wondering where you are from as well. If it is the KC region, forget it. You will need an act of Congress to get the IUP, or a car for that matter

Actually I'm from the armpit of America-----OHIO! It just stinks, the weather, the cows and the fact that I have to wait this long for my car!!!!!!!!!! Supposedly there are people that are still waiting for their GT's they ordered back in August. Found out they just sent my order in at the beginning of February and only get 5 mustangs a month. Had I known that I would have driven to Columbus to get one before the next model year shows up! This long, you would have though I was waiting on a Ferrari!

I think the latest delay is the bogus dealer orders that have been placed as customer orders, when, in fact, they are orders placed to fill some dealer's lots. Doesn't that s*ck? See me thread about "the call". I am also in the KC area and it will be 6 months as I'm now being told by the VP of Ford Marketing who called yesterday.

Can't they see that in the paper work ? or maybe Ford should have just one employee contact each factual order to verifie it ligitimacy, byt I guess they trust the dealers as when you ask please consult with your dealer, Humm I have always if needed ask two Docters for an opinion to see if they were a match of truth to the fire.

Ordered mine with IUP about 2/10. They told me it would be twelve weeks. Got a call last week saying delivery date is next Tuesday (3/15), about two months ahead of schedule. Now the car isn't here yet, so anything is possible I suppose, but maybe you should order in CA and have me drive it to your home.

anyone know why dealers that have 05s with IUP are charging a "limited production" charge of $4000? I have seen this at two seperate delaerships and they both called it a "limited production" charge (this is seperate from an adjusted market value charge).
