Ok, I've been trying to come up with something different for my intake cover. I was trying to do something old schoolish and got this idea from some of the decals on the air filters in the older mustangs. I did it on a photoshop program and printed them out just on paper to get an idea of how it might look. I have a fast signs place nearby and figured if I liked it I could take it to them and have it made. Maybe even in metal. Ok go easy (remember it's just in the idea stages)

In the brushed aluminum vinyl, that would look pretty good.
Way to be original..........

Thanks Rene', do you think the orange/red color that they originally were or go black lettering and silver or white background? Those brushed aluminum vinyl lettering, is it one sheet or are they individual letters?

My "powered by ford" lettering from fast signs was all individual letters. They come on a backing , so you center them, apply them, and when you peel off the backing, the letters are all individual.

For this decal. they could do 3 seperate pieces ( the 2 ends with the flag, and 1 center with the lettering).....( not sure though, just how I see it)

Since your car is red, I think a matching red would blend in well, and the brushed aluminum woudl contrast with the cover.

TRUST ME, there are so many ideas, and so many opinions on this cover, the posibilities are endless. I think you have a great idea, I say go for it.

Good luck.

Maybe change the script to "281 SUPER COBRA JET" or something similar. I played with this idea before I did up the BOSS 281 script for my intake cover.

Why not just put one across the front of the cover, just infront of the ribbed section

Funny you should say that, I did make one like that too but didn't think it looked too good. I'll try to find that picture and post it.

That is where I am placing mine. Have it designed, just waiting for the aluminum stuff to arrive in the mail.

I like the white the best, I see it with just a Blue Oval in the GT space. Simple yet well stated. Gee wish I thought of that for mine.
