Info for those with a build week of 12-5
#1
A friend of mine at the Mustang plant has been following my Mustang GTs build. I was built that week, and he couldnt figure out why it wasnt shipped and delivered this week. It had an original build week of 12-5, and delivery date the week of 12-12. For some reason the delivery date changed to 12-19. He found out that the cars build after 12-5-05 are considered 2006 1/2 model years, and fall into a special catagory for new model year builds. They apparently let a 5 day build of cars pile up for intensive testing before they are released to be shipped. Being in Michigan, I should have my car monday or tuesday. Just a heads up to those with build dates the last couple of weeks as to why their car may have been delayed. Below is his email to me about it.
Does anyone know what may be different between a 2006 Mustang GT and a 2006 1/2 Mustang GT? Fill us in if you know!
Found your car. Your car is a 2006 1/2 and we just started building them and don't have permission to ship them. The big meeting is today.
It is built, completed and ready to ship. We never ship new models until we are sure that they are of the quality that you expect. When we have about 5 days production, then we examine each of the cars to make sure that they are built correctly. Many are driven to make sure that they all function the way they are supposed to. We run them through the spray booth, drive them over the squeak and rattle track and make sure that they are ready to sell.
Everything is ok. This afternoon, we had our Ok-To-Ship meeting because all the cars passed with flying colors and we did get the go ahead to release the cars to the dealerships. We were missing two signatures as of about 4:00 this afternoon and I suspect that they are all in now.
You will get your car soon and you will be happy!

Is there any difference between the 06 and the 06.5? My budy just got his a week ago...I would love to have something to rub in his face

I just checked the Automated Info line and it was shipped on the 10th, and will be at the dealer this Monday! Jeeeezz I only ordered it in June!
I really would like to know if there is any difference between the 06 and 06.5 model year.

Ask your buddy at the plant...I would think he might know.
How much did it cost to widen your factory rims on that car?? Never heard of that till lately

I think widening the factory Marauder rims cost $150 each. The Marauder rim will actually be an optional rim for the Mustang some time soon. 18X8 widened to 18X9.5 with Nitto 305 extream drag radial. The Marauder has so much torque that it spins the nittos off the rim. I plan on having my factory 18 in bullit rims on the Mustang Widened as well.
Check out my Cardomain page on the Marauder, I think there are some pics of the widened rims there.

Mine shipped 12/12 by convoy carrier as well but im in new orleans. My dealer said it had not made it to the railcar yet. I thought it was coming by truck the whole way. My friend did just gte a car from the same dealer a few weeks ago...his came by rail car. So I dont know what is going on

Just talked to my dealer....he told me the ETA was this week (12/19), but it doesn't look like that's gonna happen...and he didn't even have any info on a railcar or whatever, so it could still be sitting there at the plant. I ordered back on 15 October, and really didn't think V6's took this long. I really hope it comes in next week, esp. since I'm leaving to go back to school the week after that.
